Specialist Skills Technician

Vestas is currently growing and is seeking a High Voltage Advanced Technician based in South Australia. 

 

Service Operations > Service AUNZ > Operations BoP

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experience Electrical Specialist to report to the Lead Balance of Plant(BOP) Engineering Manager.  As part of the operations team you will work in close cooperation with BoP Engineering, Construction and Service to ensure professional installation, commissioning and testing of newly installed BoP systems, and actively conducting planned scheduled and unscheduled services on BoP systems.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Travel to sites and undertake HV scheduled service, routine inspections, fault diagnosis and reactive maintenance
  • Provide remote operational and technical support to site based HV operators
  • Respond and attend site outside normal working hours to undertake reactive maintenance 
  • Plan substation shutdowns, coordinate, supervise third parties and generate reports
  • Maintain good relationship to internal and external customers;

 
Qualifications

 

  • A grade Electrical trade certificate 
  • HV Operator with substation switching and maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated commitment and adherence to safety and environmental requirements
  • A strong collaborator with clear communication.

 
Competencies 

 

  • Demonstrated commitment and adherence to safety and environmental requirements Fit, with the ability to carry weight and climb wind turbine towers
  • Flexibility in operation and ability to work in a team and as a motivated contributw
  • Self motivated, with good communication skills and good work ethic
  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft packages

Additional information

 

  • Please note there will be approximately 180 days of travel per year
