The role is part of the newly formed team under the Global Finance of Vestas Global Shared Services Centre and is part of the expansion initiatives to deliver and cater to our internal Vestas businesses around the world. The team will be primarily responsible in providing standardized, rule-based services to the regions particularly VAT/tax Controlling and Postings. The team will be directly working with the Group/Regional Tax Team specifically the VAT Team (initial scope) including actions to address issues on VAT controlling and establish ways to improve the process. The team will also proactively work with a wide range of stakeholders such as Regional Finance, Treasury, and other functional areas to ensure issues and concerns are addressed positively and by the required deadlines.

 

Responsibilities:

Responsible for Managing Tax Operations, Driving Team Performance, and Ensuring Timely and Accurate Tax Compliance Delivery.

Tax Operational Responsibilities
•  Manage migration, centralization, establishment and stabilization of tax operational work and reporting activities in Shared Service Center
•  Ensure that activities and requirements are completely captured during knowledge transfer, and that risks due to complexities or challenges are appropriately tackled, managed and addressed 
•  Direct and manage operational tax team including alignment of objectives, deliverables, and expectations with global and regional tax teams 
•  Oversee monthly tax activities and reporting submission requirements to ensure adherence to deadlines and compliance 
•  Support in the review and approval of tax reports before submission.
•  Ensure alignment with other finance teams on existing and changes to requirements and prioritization of shared work and interdependencies 

Service Management Responsibilities
•  Act as second-level escalation point for operational and compliance issues.
•  Serve as primary point of contact for key Vestas' customers and stakeholders 
•  Manage process pain points are properly addressed in collaboration with global and regional Tax for resolution.
•  Review and monitor workload distribution, team performance, and adherence to KPI targets and deadlines
•  Provide tax guidance and training to the organization in an advisory and consulting capacity, as well make decisions as necessary on critical tax matters or concerns

Reporting and Performance Management
•  Review and communicate reports on tax compliance, risks, and operational performance to provide visibility and transparency on status and potential risk or exposure for all entities
•  Work with group and regional tax to follow and cascade to SSC changes and updates to countries' VAT/tax and statistical reporting, regulation and requirements
•  Align and standardize tax activities and processes by challenging the "as-is" setup across regions and collaborating with global tax, regional tax, and finance SSC 
•  Drive projects and continuous improvement, efficiency, and automation in tax process, activities, and requirements

Leadership and Development
•  Manage staffing, onboarding, and continuous development of team members
•  Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to ensure team are equipped with the necessary technical knowledge and capability 
•  Foster a high-performance team environment focused on simplicity, quality and compliance

 

Qualifications:

•  Bachelor's degree in accountancy, Finance, or related field
•  Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax operations, reporting and compliance
•  With strong background in Global Shared Services, BPO, or multinational environments; and solid experience on process migration and transition to central offshore team/GBS/GCC is highly preferred 
•  Leadership and stakeholder management experience
•  Strong technical knowledge of tax processes, compliance, and reporting (i.e., indirect taxes, direct taxes, transfer price, Intrastat and other statistical reporting)
•  Experience in process standardization, optimization, and efficiency improvements
•  Strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills
•  Problem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making skills with data analytics exposure
•  Performance management experience and ability to manage KPIs and SLAs

•   Excellent stakeholder management across Finance (AP, AR, GL, ICO) and Global Tax
•   Strong customer focus and service delivery mindset
•   Ability to handle escalations and drive resolution effectively
•  Decision making on complex topics and issues, including matters related to tax audit assessments, tax compliance, penalties, etc.
•  Strong communication and storytelling skills to present insights and performance
•  High level of flexibility to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
•  Change management and continuous improvement mindset
