Remote Operations Center Manila is part of Vestas Global Service and is responsible for monitoring SCADA servers around the globe as well as ensuring data collection from wind parks is complete and accurate.

 

Remote Operations Center Manila supports:

  • Day-to-day data collection of each and every turbine located in all wind parks across the globe. The team also oversees the helpdesk support, data monitoring, and DBA tasks related to the turbine data collection
  • Offsite IT Infrastructure alert monitoring for other wind parks across the globe to ensure connectivity of all the parks to the network, SCADA server is in working condition and Vestas critical services are running to minimize lost production factor of wind turbines
  • Offsite network support assisting customers to make sure that they can connect to Vestas network
  • Perform yearly server maintenance health checks on at least 2000 SCADA servers
  • First-level support for customers encountering Application issues
  • Monitoring SCADA servers around the globe
  • Ensuring data collection from wind parks is complete and accurate

Responsibilities

A System Operator has the responsibility to:

  • Perform day-to-day operation of technical components, to continuously meet agreed service levels
  • Contribute to day-to-day delivery of Technical IT services, meeting the required or agreed levels of functionality and quality/availability
  • High-quality support, i.e. short response time and high resolution rate
  • Monitor and react to any detectable or discernible occurrence that has significance for the management of IT infrastructure or delivery of IT service and evaluation of the impact a deviation might cause to the services according to agreed SLA/OLA
  • Ticket handling (Receiving, documenting, prioritizing, and distributing service calls)
  • Ticket resolution (incident resolution, request fulfillment)
  • Technical troubleshooting as agreed with the stakeholders
  • Daily Routine Tasks Management - Performs all activities relating to assigned technical/technological expertise, including daily routine tasks, incident resolution, request fulfillment, change applications, and developments as described in the Basic ROC Manila monitoring services
  • Provides inputs for continuous operations improvement
  • Provide safe and efficient operation within own area

 

Qualifications

  • At least two (2) years of extensive experience in the following:
    • Server administration - Windows
    • Windows Server Administration (2003 and above)
  • At least two (2) years of related experience in any of the following is beneficial:
    • SQL scripting
    • Microsoft SQL-related operations support
    • Server administration - VMware
    • Nagios Administration
    • Operator's tasks in VMware
    • Basic Network Administration (CISCO)
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of related experience in Incident Management and Troubleshooting
  • Solid business sense and focus on delivering effective customer IT service
  • Certification in ITIL v4 can be favorable
  • Emphatic yet able to build customer rapport; able to influence people professionally including the management
  • Highly practical and able to make quick decisions in resolving critical incidents/issues
  • Effective reporting skills in both oral and written; experience in collaborating with different nationalities is necessary

 

Competencies

  • Education: BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or IT graduate, or equivalent
  • Very good written and oral English communication skills
  • Strong coordination and interpersonal skills; team-oriented
  • Experience in supporting large-scale/global sites from a central remote location primarily in an IT Shared Service or Operations/Command Center environment
  • General knowledge and skills in supporting various IT technologies (Infrastructure and Systems)
  • Knowledgeable in IT systems administration and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with Ticket Management tools/processes
  • Required to work on shifting schedule - the team is supporting the business 24x7
  • Able to travel abroad if needed by the position
