We are seeking a motivated Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will contribute to the design, implementation, and support of Microsoft's M365 suite of applications within our organization. The SME will provide advanced technical guidance and support for Exchange On-premise, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Viva Engage, Powershell, Microsoft Graph, Microsoft 365 Apps and Services, and Microsoft Viva. This role requires a thorough understanding of technology, a prepared approach to problem-solving, and the ability to communicate easily with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

In addition to these responsibilities, the SME will also focus on eliciting requirements from stakeholders, ensuring that their needs are met through effective communication and collaboration. The role will involve working in an Agile environment, promoting iterative development, continuous feedback, and adaptive planning.

Furthermore, the SME will be responsible for governance, administration, and supporting personal productivity tools within the Product Area such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Clipchamp, Snagit, Camtasia, Microsoft Stream, and Decisions. The qualified candidate will provide comprehensive support and training for these tools, ensuring their optimal use within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Exchange On-premise and Exchange Online Management: Oversee and manage the hybrid environment of Exchange On-premise and Exchange Online, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. Resolve issues related to email delivery, security, and compliance
  • Microsoft Teams Administration: Administer and support Microsoft Teams, including configuration, policy management, and troubleshooting. Ensure the effective use of Microsoft Teams for collaboration and communication across the organization
  • OneDrive Management: Implement and manage OneDrive for Business, ensuring secure access, data protection, and optimal performance for end-users. Provide training and support to users to maximize OneDrive's capabilities
  • Promote the adoption and integration of Viva Engage, focusing on enhancing employee engagement and collaboration. Monitor usage and provide insights for continuous improvement
  • Powershell Scripting: Develop and maintain Powershell scripts to automate administrative tasks, streamline processes, and enhance the efficiency of Microsoft 365 operations. Ensure scripts are well-documented and reusable
  • Microsoft Graph Expertise: Utilize Microsoft Graph API to develop custom solutions and integrations that extend the functionality of M365 applications. Stay updated with the latest developments and best practices in Microsoft Graph
  • Microsoft 365 Apps and Services: Support and optimize Microsoft 365 Apps and Services, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications within the suite. Provide training to users and ensure seamless integration with other Microsoft 365 tool
  • Microsoft Viva: Implement and support Microsoft Viva, focusing on its modules such as Viva Insights, Viva Learning, and Viva Topics. Promote the adoption of MS Viva to enhance employee experience and productivity
  • Governance and Administration: Oversee governance and administration of supporting personal productivity tools such as, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Cloud, Clipchamp, Snagit, Camtasia, Microsoft Stream, Decisions, and ThinkCel Provide comprehensive support and training for these tools, ensuring their optimal use within the organization
  • Requirements Elicitation: Work closely with stakeholders to elicit and gather requirements, ensuring their needs are met through effective communication and collaboration. Apply Agile methodologies to promote iterative development, continuous feedback, and adaptive planning

 

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's Degree is beneficial

 

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing and supporting Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange On-premise, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Viva Engage, Powershell, Microsoft Graph, Microsoft 365 Apps and Services, and Microsoft Viva

 

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Exchange On-premise and Exchange Online, including hybrid configurations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Teams administration and support
  • Experience with OneDrive for Business management and support
  • Understanding of Viva Engage and its implementation within an organization
  • Proficiency in Powershell scripting for automation and administration
  • Experience with Microsoft Graph API for custom solutions and integrations
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 Apps and Services, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
  • Experience with Microsoft Viva and its modules such as Viva Insights, Viva Learning, and Viva Topics
  • Experience with supporting personal productivity tools such as, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Cloud, Clipchamp, Snagit, Camtasia, Microsoft Stream, Decisions, and ThinkCell

 

Soft Skills:

Certifications:

Relevant Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, MCSA, or MCSE are favorable

  • Technical Supervision: Provide technical supervision and guidance for the implementation and support of Microsoft 365 applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective deployment and operation of Microsoft 365 solutions
  • Project Management: Supervised and managed Microsoft 365-related projects from inception to completion. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. These are projects primarily related to Microsoft 365 and personal productivity tools within the scope of the Product Area
  • Support and Fixing Problems: Provide advanced support and problem-solving for Microsoft 365 applications. Resolve complex technical issues and ensure optimal performance and availability of Microsoft 365 services
  • Training and Documentation: Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and IT staff. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Microsoft 365 configurations, procedures, and best practices
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure Microsoft 365 environments adhere to security policies and compliance requirements. Implement best practices for data protection, access control, and regulatory compliance
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest Microsoft 365 features, updates, and best practices. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation within the Microsoft 365 environment
  • Personal Productivity Tools: Manage projects related to this type of tool. Oversee governance, and administration, and provide comprehensive support and training for these tools, ensuring their optimal use within the organization Ensure adherence to the company's security and compliance requirements
  • Requirements Elicitation: Elicit requirements from the SME's organization as well as stakeholders within the company at large. Collaborate closely to understand and document their needs and expectations
  • User Story Development: Work with team members to translate elicited requirements into User Stories. Break down these User Stories into Tasks, ensuring they are clearly defined and actionable
  • Estimation Facilitation: Facilitate the estimation of Tasks in both Story Points and Hours. Ensure that the team accurately estimates the effort required for effective project execution
  • Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to team members, guiding them in their professional development. Foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment to upgrade colleagues' knowledge and abilities
