The newly formed role/team is under the Global Finance of Vestas Shared Services Centre and is part of the expansion initiatives of SSC to deliver and cater to our internal Vestas businesses around the world.

The team will be primarily responsible in providing standardized, rule-based services to the region, particularly VAT Controlling, and Postings. 

The team will be directly working with the Group Tax Team particularly the VAT Team to address the process issues on VAT controlling and establish ways to improve the process.  

Proactively works with a wide range of stakeholders such as Regional Finance, Treasury, and other SSC functional areas to ensure issues and concerns are addressed positively and by prescribed deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • First-level VAT controlling 
  • Extract VAT Returns from SAP to enable (including but not limited to the creation of reports to be used for controlling and forming the basis of postings to relevant accounts in the balance sheet, clearing of postings of VAT, posting of refund/payment when finalized with tax authorities, etc.
  • VAT return reconciliation against Intrastat return ECSL and other relevant reports
  • Other VAT-related reporting including but not limited to Intrastat, statistical reporting, and other local regulatory reporting
  • VAT SMEs for Intercompany, AP, and AR 
  • Responsible for drafting SOPs (to be reviewed and approved by Group Tax, VAT team)
  • Responsible for training new employees in the team (in collaboration with the Group Tax, and VAT team)
  • Engage recurrently with the Group Tax, and VAT team to ensure process optimization, automation, and standardization
  • Engage recurrently with Group Tax on how to gain efficiencies from the team

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any Accounting or Finance courses
  • At least 4 to 6 years of work experience in Value Added Tax (VAT), AP/AR/ Intercompany or any equivalent finance functions
  • With adequate critical and relevant financial analysis skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in using ERP (SAP) systems
  • BPO/Shared Service experience preferred; Good to have leadership experience
  • Focused on work-shifting schedules

 

Competencies

  • Has adequate finance, audit, or accounting background
  • Knows accounting guidelines and principles such as IAS and GAAP and VAT filing and controlling
  • Knowledgeable in process documentation, simplification, and standardization
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledge of using ERP (SAP) systems
  • Good in communication, stakeholder management and business partnering
