The team is under the Global Finance of Vestas Shared Services Centre. General Ledger - Tax Analyst is mainly responsible for the month-end/quarter-end/year-end closing of the company's financial records. The department is also responsible for the cash flow reporting, fixed assets accounting, cash management, intercompany accounting & some statutory reporting. The group is expected to have close collaboration with the regional finance, payroll & treasury department, as well as with the other functions in SSC, such as AP/AR/TE & Controlling and Reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Runs and analyzes monthly sales and general ledger reports, files corresponding tax returns, and maintains the sales tax calendar
  • Indirect tax compliance, including analysis, review, filing, and payment of the indirect tax returns
  • Ensures timely tax payments; manages tax payment processing in SAP, coordinating approvals and working with various teams to execute ACH, wire, and check payments
  • Exemption certificate management: ensuring exemption certificates are properly collected, maintained, and recorded. Reaches out to customers, follows up on certificates needing action, and submits IT requests to update customer master data accordingly
  • Responsible for posting tax payments, processing journal entries related to use tax reclassifications, and managing tax clearing items
  • Plays a role in audit support, gathering customer and vendor invoices, P-card expense receipts, and other supporting documents required for audits

 

Qualifications

  • A graduate of BS Accountancy
  • With a solid background in General Ledger, tax functions, or Reporting or Controlling
  • With at least 5 years of working experience in the same field
  • With BPO or SSC experience
  • Have knowledge in process improvement methodologies
  • With certifications (i.e., CPA, CMA, CIA, etc.)

 

Competencies

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and able to apply them to day-to-day operations
  • Effective communication skills, particularly in the English language, both oral and written. The ability to provide insights and analytics
  • Possess proficient problem-solving skills relevant to the role and able to resolve and follow through on issues until completion
  • Exhibits initiative, curiosity, a growth mindset, simplicity, and interest in learning
  • Collaborative and takes initiative with an optimistic outlook; able to thrive in high-demand situations
  • Good customer service mindset, but able to address any deviations or non-compliant requests
  • Shows flexibility towards work shift schedule depending on the region catered, and is willing to extend during the month-end close as needed
