The Controlling and Reporting group is in charge of ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting. This includes compliance with the Company's Financial Guidelines while securing proactive engagement with stakeholders. The group also acts as a business partner for Regional, Project, or Group stakeholders and makes sure that the financial activities-based decisions are taken on a good financial business case that can and will be followed.

Responsibilities

Project Finance Controlling and Reporting (40%)

  • Conduct financial review (at every Gate/Milestone) ensuring the correctness of figures/costs added in the Gate Material of the project
  • Conduct a CAPEX review of the project prior to passing G1 (DBI) or G2 (VwTM) in alignment with Vestas Financial Guidelines
  • Responsible for the timely addition of RA Key to the project.
  • Conduct PCR review before submitting for MoT approval
  • Ensure completeness of audit-related documentation such as G2 budget sheet/contract, CAPEX template, G5 budget sheet/contract, and Project Completion Template
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to both Project Managers and Finance Business Partner
  • Perform project-related monthly closing tasks (accruals, etc.)
  • Responsible for ensuring correct categorization of project costs (CAPEX and OPEX check)
  • Responsible for keeping the module's open commitment aligned with the agreed KPI (30 days and below)

 

Finance Business Partnering (40%)

  • Responsible for discussing deviations between actuals, commitment, and forecasts with the project managers
  • Assist/Liaise with project managers on other concerns outside project finance (PO and invoice-related concerns, etc.)
  • Support the Project Managers in understanding project actuals with a good understanding of value drivers and be able to communicate the issue with the Project Managers without being too (technical or) in a non-finance context
  • Review and evaluate Project Managers on their proposed project budget. Promoting realistic budgets and targets
  • Responsible for driving rolling forecast on the project and regular forecast update
  • Conducts Project Manager training on Project Cost Management
  • Support and respond to inquiries and questions from Project Managers and Finance Business Partner

 

Processes and Knowledge (20%)

  • Take initiative to improve processes related to Project Controlling
  • Contribute to Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvements across VPS Finance

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in any Finance, Accounting, Business or Management course
  • At least 5-7 years of work experience in Controlling & Reporting or equivalent finance function
  • Impeccable analytical skills relevant to financial analysis
  • Experience in financial reporting is desired
  • With advanced oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated and self-directed; with a "can-do" attitude
  • Proficient in using applications such as Microsoft Office, SAP ERP, and BI
  • Able to cope with change and work under ambiguous circumstances
  • Experience in business partnering

 

Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Financial understanding and budget responsibility
  • Ability to interact frequently with others in a professional, courteous manner
  • Ability to do effective business partnering and communication with both finance and non-finance professionals
  • Experience in budgeting and reporting financials with insights
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (data mining/analytics) and SAP Working knowledge preferred
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment under matrix organization
