The SSC VPS Finance Controlling Manager role in Vestas Shared Service A/S Philippines - ROHQ plays a very important part in the current growth strategies of the company globally. Exposure to Management in Headquarters, Manufacturing Plants, and Sales & Service Business Units while dealing with monthly reconciliation, controlling analysis, SOX & Compliance processes will be imminent and crucial in the role.

The SSC VPS Finance Controlling Manager will motivate a culture of accountability and an end-to-end controller mindset to ensure first-time-right task execution. The incumbent will also own metrics implementation and performance management. The incumbent will also oversee the innovative involvement of the team in the delivery of group/organization-related initiatives that impact the entity's scope. The incumbent will also supervise the team and support them in meeting operational and personal development aspirations. This role operates in a complex matrix environment and needs to be able to connect the dots/input and provide meaningful analysis as an output. The SSC VPS Finance Controlling Manager is basically in charge of responsibilities that ensure costing, controls, inventory reconciliation processes, and accrual management are in place and is working in preparation for SOX Compliance and internal and external reporting readiness. It is basically an implementation of value-based management of the company's financials. This opening is focused on innovating and handling 8 to 12 direct reports to ensure the execution of month-end controlling activities and reports for the Vestas Power Solution (VPS) Business Controlling space.

  • To supervise and handle a team of Controllers and Finance Analysts in a matrixed organization to implement the controlling activities following the Vestas Financial guidelines

  • The Team Manager is responsible for reporting and evaluating team performance and addressing operational issues to ensure that all metrics and processes are achieved

  • The role is also responsible for organizing various personnel functions, including but not limited to team resourcing, training, performance appraisals, and supervising underperformance, if there is any

  • The Team Manager should also be able to identify process improvements or control gaps and resolutions. Effective change programs such as implementation and process standardization are also required

  • The Team Manager covers the planning and organization of the team's work to engage and enable team members to implement work efficiently and effectively and to establish and maintain interfaces with key stakeholders

  • Effectively engage and collaborate with relevant colleagues and business stakeholders, addressing operational issues and problems with speed and quality

  • Formulate a functional strategic plan applicable to the operations in scope and align it towards the Overall SSC strategic plan

  • Communicate team performance status and needs to the Senior Manager, SSC COO, VPS, and Group Finance Controlling and provide monthly service level metrics details

  • Supervise activities of the staff members. Provide ongoing support, guidance, and coaching as needed to ensure effective teamwork, identification, and resolution of issues, and facilitation of stakeholder relationships

  • Develop and implement team goals per overall organizational goals

  • Ensure all processes, procedures, and controls are followed, and a robust control framework is maintained. This includes adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and that this document is updated

  • Embed knowledge management (business/process) within the team and ensured that local process/business/stakeholder knowledge was adequately recorded/documented and retained

  • Organize and coordinate the work efforts of the team to assure goals are completed within deadlines and budget

  • Identify possible improvement opportunities towards a more effective/efficient end-to-end process

  • Conduct quality development and performance reviews for direct reports

  • Ensure staff members are recognized and rewarded for their accomplishments as appropriate

  • Ensure that all Vestas' policies and procedures are followed

  • Exhibit professional leadership behavior that will support the growth and development of staff and the organization

  • Establish and maintain an office environment inclusive of diversity and inclusiveness



  • Bachelor's Degree in any Finance, Business or Management course

  • 5 to 8 years post qualification professional experience; at least 3-4 years supervisory or managerial experience

  • Professional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and retain staff and to develop leadership within an organization

  • Demonstrated Project and Change Management abilities; Lean six sigma training or certification

  • Deliver results - take personal accountability to ensure timely and first-time right delivery of commitments of self and team

  • Advocates customer focus - establish efficient working relationships within the team and stakeholders

  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principle & Cost Accounting Standards

  • For instance, experience in SAP

  • Very good proficiency in Microsoft applications especially in MS Suite. Macros for instance but not required

  • Good background in standard costing and baseline for procurement, manufacturing, and supply chain and has an overview of how accounting works in these respective departments. Should have efficient willingness to learn Controlling in Vestas

  • Good and confident communication skill as the role requires discussing with business stakeholders



  • High-level experience in (1) Controlling Actual Financials (2) Forecasting or Budgeting

  • With a high level and specific knowledge of Accounting concepts and innovative skills relevant to financial analysis

  • Ability in developing financial projections and building financial models

  • Efficient documentation and process mapping experience

  • A professional and having a "can do" attitude; a focused person in a complex, a complex and a forward-thinking environment

  • Knowledge of using ERP Systems. Experience in SAP and SAP-BI is required

  • Should be an advanced-level MS Office user. Macros are an added advantage

  • Great in presentation, communication, stakeholder management, and business partnering, including communicating numbers and data to non-financial people
