Operations Engineer

For more than a decade we've built and organized services for monitoring all network-attached equipment in Wind Power Plants. The recent years as one scrum team working the agile methods. The team has full responsibility for the services we deliver from operations to development, design and strategy. Our services consist of a mix of internally built software as well as large and proven open-source solutions. We prefer to enhance the world with the Linux operating system.

The team consists of 3 persons in Aarhus, Denmark and 12 persons in Manila, Philippines.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to day-to-day delivery of Technical IT services, meeting the required or agreed levels of functionality and quality/availability
• Ticket resolution (incident resolution, request fulfillment)
• Support and administration of Icinga infrastructure
• Provides inputs for continuous operations improvement
• Carry out Infrastructure monitoring that performs reactive/proactive response to indications of possible degradation or total disruption of an IT service
• Create documentation for infrastructure-related procedures and processes
• Close daily and long-term collaboration with team members both in Manila and Denmark

Qualifications

• A formal education and degree in computer science or similar, or at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
• Relevant Certifications as an alternative to formal education like RHCSA, RHCE, or similar
• Proven experience with Icinga and Nagios and or similar solutions
• Advance IT administration and troubleshooting skills, generally in Linux RedHat environments (LAMP, Laravel applications, Nagios plugins)
• Several years of experience as a system administrator using scripting and automation tools and can create short scripts to automate any routine work (Bash, Perl)
• Familiar with multiple programming languages and frameworks, such as PHP Laravel and Python
• Experience or familiarity with MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, or Prometheus
• Knowledge of Puppet, Chocolatey, and experience with Elasticsearch, Elastiflow
• Familiar with software development on the topics: requirements, agile methods (SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe, DevOps, etc.)
• Knowledgeable in TCP/IP suite; Network (WAN/LAN/WLAN), VPN, RDP, SNMP, and Internet services (HTTP, DNS, FTP, SSH, and SMTP) are advantageous
• Experience with Ticket Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA, etc.)
