You will be part of the Datacenter & Cloud Engineering and Services team (DCES), who are responsible for Datacenter and Cloud Platforms.

 

Vestas Digital Solutions is responsible for a wide range of activities all related to driving and promoting the digital agenda. The DCES team accelerates digital product development by providing a secure and enterprise-ready infrastructure.

Responsibilities

In your position as an Infrastructure Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to:

  • Define, evaluate, plan, forecast, measure, maintain, and improve all aspects of the availability of services
  • Coordinate changes to service, configuration items, organizational change, supplier change, and associated documentation
  • Coordinate the response to incident reports, ensuring relevant prioritization and detail to allow effective investigation
  • Ownership of problems and proactively resolving technical problems
  • Manage PaaS solutions, such as Azure and other various web platforms in the data center
  • Deploy and configure services/applications in on-prem and cloud setups
  • Design and present platform architecture for projects that you participate in
  • Collaborating and aligning with other engineers and stakeholders to identify and address technical challenges and opportunities, and ensure that our platforms live up to our business needs and goals 
  • Evaluating and selecting appropriate tools and technologies for use in our infrastructure, including cloud computing platforms, version control systems, automation tools, and monitoring and logging tools 
  • Integrating selected tools and technologies into our infrastructure and supporting their use by our development and operations teams 
  • Derive Platform needs from business dialogues
  • Contribute to Platform roadmap and contribute to improving capabilities within the area
  • Provide feedback regarding development or engineering methodologies, standards, and leading practices
  • Maintain and spread the DevOps culture and ways of working across Vestas

 

Qualifications

You have:

  • Experience with remote Server operation in an on-premises data center
  • Expertise in general Operating System operation, Windows, Redhat, Suse, etc. for physical and virtual workloads, both on-premises and in a Cloud scenario
  • Knowledge in Storage and Backup solutions for both, on-premises data centers as well as Azure Cloud solutions, e.g. Azure Backup, Commvault
  • Experiences in working with Service-now and Azure DevOps
  • Experience in working with IaaS and PaaS in Microsoft Azure such as Managed SQL web apps, etc.
  • Knowing Core Web Platform Services like Azure WebApps, IIS, and NGINX
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure or other cloud services
  • Coding knowledge for the automation of infrastructure, including experience with:
    • Terraform/Pulumi/Ansible, or other similar declarative and idempotent IaC tools
  • Experience with Agile ways of working and experience with Microsoft Azure in a DevOps team structure
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban

 

Competencies

Working in Infrastructure & Platform Management naturally requires a solid technical understanding of IT infrastructures such as on-premise data center technologies as well as integrated hybrid solutions and platform services.
