The role is part of the newly formed team under the Global Finance of Vestas Shared Services Centre (SSC) and is part of the expansion initiatives of SSC to deliver and cater to our internal Vestas businesses around the world. The team will be primarily responsible in providing standardized, rule-based services to the regions particularly VAT Controlling and Postings. 

 

The team will be directly working with the Group/Regional Tax Team specifically the VAT Team including actions to address issues on VAT controlling and establish ways to improve the process.  

 

The team will also work closely with a wide range of stakeholders such as Regional Finance, Treasury, and other SSC functional areas to ensure issues and concerns are addressed positively and by the required deadlines.

Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for Tax Compliance, VAT Reporting, and Process Control ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of operations.

 

Tax Operational Responsibilities

    • Execute general ledger (GL) reconciliations and ensure accuracy of VAT-related accounts
    • Prepare IFRS postings and perform revaluation of VAT balances where required
    • Create GLSU entries for balance movements, corrections, and manual VAT postings or provisions
    • Maintain and prepare VAT controlling file based on SAP standard VAT raw data
    • Perform first-level VAT controlling, including invoice analysis in accordance with SOPs and work instructions
    • Clear open items in VAT accounts and maintain accurate tracking of balances and corrections
    • Perform VAT settlements and execute month-end closing activities related to VAT

 

Compliance and Reporting Responsibilities

    • Prepare and submit VAT returns, Intrastat, ECSL, and other statutory or statistical reports
    • Coordinate submission of reports either directly to tax authorities or via external advisors
    • Prepare and submit CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) reports and facilitate purchase of CBAM certificates
    • Prepare VAT receivables reporting, including balance confirmation, aging analysis, and refund tracking
    • Prepare quarterly VAT controls and VAT cash flow forecasts
    • Provide data and analysis for VAT receivables and other tax reporting requirements
    • Ensure proper archiving of all supporting tax documentation in line with compliance requirements

 

Service Management Responsibilities

    • Monitor and maintain overview of corrections and ensure timely resolution
    • Perform continuous follow-up with AR, AP, and ICO teams on pending VAT-related issues
    • Prepare manual payment requests related to tax obligations
    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all tax processes and deliverables

 

Projects & Continuous Improvement

    • Support documentation and enhancement of VAT work instructions and process guidelines
    • Identify process improvement opportunities and provide inputs to increase efficiency and accuracy
    • Contribute to automation, standardization, and streamlining of VAT and tax-related processes

 

Stakeholder Collaboration and Support

    • Coordinate with internal teams (AP, AR, ICO) and external advisors to ensure compliance and issue resolution
    • Support cross-functional collaboration for tax-related activities and reporting requirements

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, Finance, or related field
  • At least 1–3 years of experience in VAT, finance operations, or similar roles ((AP, AR, Intercompany or any equivalent)
  • Solid foundation in accounting principles and VAT basics
  • Experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • BPO/Shared Services experience
  • Experience in process migration/offshoring

KPIs:

 

  • Month end Closing Deadlines:
    • WD2: VAT settlement, assignment corrections
    • WD3: GLSU entries for reclass (payable or receivable), accruals, and provisions.
  • Statutory Reports Submission Deadlines:
    • VAT Returns, Intrastat, and other statistical reporting requirements (deadline differs per country)
