The SSC Procurement Department is comprised of multiple workstreams within Procurement such as Indirect Buying, Purchasing & SQD, Supply & Market Analytics, and Digitalization & Processes. This role is under the Purchasing & SQD team which collaborates closely with the Global and Regional Procurement organizations on purchasing activities (i.e. source-to-contract activities, spend management, and supplier negotiation) and supplier & quality development (SQD).

Responsibilities

  • You shall supervise and handle a team of purchasers in a matrixed organization to implement the purchasing according to the Vestas process, fulfill current performance targets, develop effective supplier relationships as well as secure that Vestas' future business needs will be satisfied
  • Skill building and development: Ensure team is equipped with the needed skills in their current roles and develop employee ability to prepare them for future roles based on career path identified
  • Ensure goals and prioritization of tasks are aligned with the corresponding global or regional counterparts (i.e. category director or regional procurement head)
  • Assess and improve the performance of the team by regular review of the goals and work with the employee to sustain achievement or mitigate performance gaps
  • Provide guidance to the purchasers in the different sourcing activities, and such guidance should be in line with the functional (global or regional) strategy or Vestas process
  • Work across different functions within Procurement and within Vestas to support the team in the implementation of the category/regional procurement strategies
  • Growing the scope: Move for the increase in complexity and scope of the categories or regions handled, and thereby growing the team
  • Business continuity: Establish contingency plans to ensure continuity of purchasing operations and required global or regional coverage
  • Bring continuous improvement programs to eliminate wastes in the process and automate or optimize repetitive activities
  • On an ad-hoc basis, conduct sourcing activities with agreed vendors and negotiate to reach the best possible outcome for Vestas

 

Qualifications

  • Engineering graduate or relevant business degree
  • With at least 10 years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement functions
  • With at least 5 years of experience in leadership and people development
  • Experience with defining and implementing sourcing strategies
  • Experience in SAP or Ariba procure-to-pay process
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High-quality English written and verbal communication skills and ability to speak with conviction
  • Highly self-motivated, motivated work ethic, keen attention to details and great customer service orientation
  • Professional in stakeholder management and with keen communication skills at all levels
