Sr. Accountant 
PH, Pasay City | Administrative | Full-Time

The team is under Global Finance of Vestas Shared Services Centre. General Ledger is mainly responsible for month-end/quarter-end/year-end closing of the company's financial records. The department is also responsible for cash flow reporting, fixed assets accounting, cash management, intercompany accounting & some statutory reporting. The group is expected to have close collaboration with regional finance, payroll & treasury department as well as with the other functions in SSC such as AP/AR/TE & Controlling and Reporting.

 

A2R and AR > A2R APC, VWS, CEU, NEU, MED, Fixed Asset > A2R MED, AME

 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in further improvement and optimization of Cash Flow Reporting, Monthly Reporting, Statutory Reporting and Intercompany Reconciliation processes, procedures in Finance and Accounting
  • Implement the relevant finance processing of Cash Management, Fixed Assets and General Ledger fully in accordance with the defined and agreed Vestas Standard Operating Procedures
  • Effectively engage and collaborate with relevant colleagues (i.e., AP/ AR/TE, Controlling and Reporting) and business stakeholders (i.e., Regional Finance, Payroll & Treasury), in order to solve operational issues and problems with speed and quality
  • Review daily (i.e., bank posting/clearing, bank reconciliation) and monthly reports (i.e. Accruals, Fixed Assets, ICP Recon, Cash Flow and MRP) and accompanying schedules and specifications
  • Performed analytical review to ensure achievement of KPIs and PPIs for the specific function assigned
  • Ensure SOX controls review has been performed and completed for specific entities being handled
  • Assists in improving accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure standard operating procedures and process manuals are frequently reviewed and updated accordingly
  • Develop training plans and knowledge sharing within the team

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of BS Accountancy
  • With a solid background in General Ledger functions, Reporting or Controlling 
  • With at least five (5) years of working experience in the same field 
  • With BPO and migration experience

 

Competencies

  • Yellow belt trained or with knowledge in process improvement methodologies
  • With certifications (i.e. CPA, CMA, CIA etc.) but not required
  • With good communication skills 
  • Problem solving-oriented 
  • Flexible, willing to travel and willing to work on holidays as needed and on any shift as may be assigned
  • With positive behavior and attitude
  • Can blend well to different kinds of personalities
  • With knowledge in using ERP systems
