Purchaser (Contract Management)

The SSC Procurement Department is comprised of multiple workstreams within Procurement such as Indirect Buying, Purchasing & SQD, Supply & Market Analytics, and Digitalization & Processes. This role is under the Purchasing & SQD team which collaborates closely with the Global and Regional Procurement organizations on purchasing activities (i.e. source-to-contract activities, spend management, and supplier negotiation) and supplier & quality development (SQD).

  • You shall be accountable in the execution of the end-to-end purchasing process, or some parts thereof, which covers requirement definition, supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting, as well as all other relevant steps within the full process  
  • You may be responsible for the category spend management of selected commodities within Global or Regional Procurement
  • Conduct sourcing activities (RFx) with agreed vendors and negotiate to reach the best possible outcome for Vestas
  • Participate or lead in the selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting with suppliers within the category
  • Direct tenders and lead in the development of supply agreements such as non-disclosure agreements, purchasing agreements and framework agreements
  • Optimize the current supply base, including cost by doing cost-outs or savings initiatives
  • Implement risk assessments of suppliers, using the standard risk tools
  • Ensure relevant master data maintenance is executed - secure that missing master data is enriched (info records, source lists, quota arrangements, and vendor master)
  • Work across different business units within Vestas and providing input to and implementation of the category/regional procurement strategies
  • Bring continuous improvement programs both internally and at the suppliers with a special focus on cost-saving initiatives, supplier optimization and component standardization
  • Ensure adherence to KPIs set by Global Sourcing regarding safety, quality, cost, delivery, innovation and sustainability
  • Perform data analysis on tenders and spend visibility and other relevant procurement analytics activities



  • Engineering graduate or relevant business degree
  • With at least (5) years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement functions
  • Experience with selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting with suppliers is necessary
  • Hands-on experience in contract negotiation
  • Solid experience in negotiating with global suppliers
  • Experience in SAP or Ariba P2P process 
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Good English written and verbal communication skills and able to speak with conviction
  • Highly self-motivated, motivated work ethic, keen attention to details and great customer service orientation
  • Good in stakeholder management and with engaging communication skills at all levels
