The position is part of Service Vietnam in the Vestas APAC Region. Here you become part of a collaborative team of more than 100 colleagues who work daily on delivering services for onshore and nearshore wind farms for our trusted customers in Vietnam. This includes everything from strategy work, operational quality, health & safety, and technical problem-solving to delivering the services on the wind turbines.

 

Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of Service Technicians and responsible for engaging in the operation and maintenance of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) in intertidal/nearshore wind farm (vessel access) and the supervision and coordination of one or more wind farm sites, daily site reporting to the Site Manager, managing general daily on-site issues, reporting and work site deliverables
  • Plan and prepare of site work rosters and schedules; manage and update these in system, and manage and coordinate with on-site personnel (Service Technicians) to ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with on-site Customer representativesEnsure Quality, OH&S and Environmental requirements (including reporting and record keeping) for the site are being maintained and complied with by onsite personnel and subcontractors
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and daily work team briefings, manage daily task management board
  • Review and approve time sheets, expense reports, leave requests, overtime requests and travel requests
  • Plan and manage resources, tools, and equipment needed for turbines operations, participate in interface meetings with customers, vessel providers, and other contractors to ensure that information and assignments are aligned between parties.
  • Present the Site Induction to all Vestas on-site personnel, subcontractors, and visitors

 

Qalifications

  • Willingness to work at the service sites and travel (to various turbines) as needed.
  • A technical background is beneficial, with knowledge of hydraulic or rotating heavy equipment. Familiarity with complex marine operations, including Crew Transfer Vessels operations, elevated lifts from grounding barges and cranes...
  • English language: at least business-level fluency (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 100 to 160 meters and at times supervise work in confined space environments.
  • Ability to observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest & High Angle Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
  • Ability to fully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent practical exercises.
  • Due to safety parameters of fall protection equipment, the total weight of required PPE and gear shall weigh 300 lbs or less while being worn. Required PPE and gear can weigh up to 40 lbs.

 

Competencies

  • People management, project management and coordination skills
  • Supervisory skills in the mechanical, electrical and electronics domain
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Team leadership and supervision skills to maintain service standards to company and contractual requirements.
  • Understanding and intermediate user of MS Office, ERP (SAP), SalesForce and exposure to similar software programs
  • Ability to adjust to a new and different culture, working in a remote wind farm site, and have a track record in integrating cross-culturally with local team
