Are you a Mechanical or Chemical Engineer with experience in technical project management? Currently, we are looking for a Tech Lead Specialist – Resin & Root Connection to join our committed team that is responsible for developing and delivering blades production tools!

The PE Blades Tooling department is responsible for developing and delivering blades production tools for Vestas Blades NPI projects and production. Tech-Lead is a part of the technical leadership team in tooling. The team is consisting of 30 multicultural engineers and specialists, where We now are looking for a new colleague for our Mechanical Engineering team. The team is placed in 3 different locations in Lem, Nakskov and Isle of Wight. This position is to strengthen our team in Lem, and You will be one of our cornerstones in the team. 

We are part of PE Blades, which is responsible for the delivery of our manufacturing production design, including special projects, development of processes and tools for the blades.


Responsibilities
This role will primarily be centered around composite component manufacturing. This involves specification and development of equipment and processes e.g. Resin Transfer Molding, resin mixing and infusion, Glass winding, Composite Drilling, Tape layer and Automation.

In order to achieve goals, you will be asked to:

  • Within this role you will be establishing the development of tooling solutions for the new blade products in Vestas with our NPI factory, product development and external suppliers
  • Set safety and quality as a priority, hereby in line with HS&E policy
  • Secure quality in all deliverables. Both in processes and physical equipment
  • You will be the technical owner and responsible person inside a defined tooling area
  • Take the lead in technologies and formulating future technology roadmaps. Supervise the development of new blade manufacturing tools, with a focus on modularization
  • Participate in developing supplier base within own area. Being a "Go to" person as you are the specialist, and thereby the role model for the team 
  • Responsible for providing the most robust, trusted, and efficient solutions with the highest performance at the lowest cost


Qualifications 

  • Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree or similar, either Bachelor or Master level
  • Extensive knowledge from Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturing
  • Knowledge from composite industry on process and equipment developments, 
  • Experience within fluid dynamics would be a plus
  • Knowledge and experience from design, development, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment would be preferred but not a must.
  • Solid experience and specific results from larger manufacturing companies
  • Safety has the highest priority in Vestas and it is pre-requisite that you prioritize safety in the daily work both in project work and are able to work safely in the office and work areas. We expect as well that you continuously build and develop your professional

  • You are a team-oriented person, securing all deliverables to the highest quality standard
  • Structured mindset, with specific attention to the details
  • Experience in specification management of larger technical installation and manufacturing equipment on a global scale. Capable of propelling technical projects across departments and cultures, and meeting deadlines
  • Capable of solving problems by using relevant methods and tools with a "hands-on" approach. (root cause analyses, 5xwhy etc.)
  • Ability to work with complex solution covering tools, processes, and materials You are skilled at communicating in English, both written and spoken

Additional Information 

Location: Preferred location is Lem, Denmark, but also flexible to Medina Mills, GB
Expected Travel: up to 50-60 days annually. This could fluctuate due to projects.
