We are looking for a Group Lead for our night shift who can inspire and develop a team while ensuring effective collaboration and effective results. In this role, you will play a key part in turning strategy into action and creating an environment where both people and performance grow together. 

  

Vestas Technology & Operations > Manufacturing > Production > Team Leader 

You will be responsible for Shell Operations Support (SOS). SOS ensures smooth and efficient production by supplying and delivering sub-components to the main mold. The department manages all crane operations, maintains machine readiness (glue, coating, and infusion), and oversees material ordering, flow, and timely delivery to the production line. 

You will be responsible for approximately 40–45 hourly paid production employees. In close cooperation with the Production Manager and fellow Group Lead colleagues, you will ensure that production is delivered safely, at the required quality level, and in line with the delivery plan. 

You will work on the night shift, where the production schedule follows a 3-1-3-7 rotation of 12-hour shifts. This means working Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, followed by Sunday off, then working Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and subsequently having a full week off. 

 

Responsibilities 

The SOS Leader is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable department performance by improving results across SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People). This includes: 

  • Safety (S): Promote and enforce a good safety culture, ensuring all crane operations, material handling, and machine activities are carried out safely and in compliance with standards 
  • Quality (Q): Ensure sub-components and services delivered to the main mold meet defined quality requirements and support stable production output 
  • Delivery (D): Secure the timely supply of materials, sub-components, and machine readiness to maintain uninterrupted production flow 
  • Cost (C): Optimize resource utilization, reduce waste, and control operational costs within the department 
  • People (P): Lead, coach, and develop operators to build an effective and engaged team with clear roles, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset 

You will also be responsible for daily operational management, planning and prioritization, cross-functional coordination, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to support overall production performance. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Solid focus on safety leadership and compliance, with the ability to build a proactive safety culture 
  • Demonstrated experience in production, manufacturing, or operations within composites, wind energy, or heavy industry, including leadership responsibility 
  • Solid people management skills, with the ability to lead, coach, and develop employees while building engagement and accountability 
  • Solid understanding of SQDCP principles (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People) and the ability to support performance and continuous improvement 
  • Well-developed organizational and coordination skills that help keep machines ready and materials moving smoothly into production 
  • Ability to identify issues, implement solutions, and lead continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Ability to adjust behavior and work effectively in changing situations, environments, and priorities 

 

Competencies 

  • Effective communication skills, ensuring clarity, consistency, and transparency at all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to motivate, coach, and develop a diverse team, promoting engagement, accountability, and consistent performance
