This role is part of Transport MED Organisation, which is reporting to Head of Transport LATAM North. This role will have colleagues around the world.
To lead the Customs operations compliance teams in the LATAM North region to ensure components are delivered as planned and in compliance with customs regulations, finding solutions to reduce costs.


  • Manage customs compliance in the Latin America region in terms of staff and issues
  • Lead the strategic planning of regional customs operations to help reduce overall operating costs
  • Manage the Vestas engagement with the customs brokers
  • Communication and follow-up with stakeholders on customs issues
  • Customs performance management. Supervise the staff on customs and transport handling in the region. Ensure that the KPIs of the company are accomplished
  • Ensure processes and instructions are in place and coordinated according to Vestas Global Customs Compliance
  • Manage international freight forwarders and IMMEX of the company



  • Experience with people management and issues management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or International Studies preferred – or similar experience. Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial with similar experience is good as well. Important knowledge areas: Import, Export, and Transport (Sea, Road, Air).
  • Knowledge in IMMEX operations (Service and Industrial) and special programs as Prosec, Rule 8th and SAP
  • Mandatory experience with Customs regulations in the region is preferred for LATAM This position is based in Mexico
  • At least 8 years of experience working as a manager or as Customs Specialist
  • Follow up, understanding the procedures, good communication with the brokers, make difficult decisions related to Transport containers and international general cargo. Solid understanding of international trade terminology
  • Manage the area staff (5 persons) and internal stakeholders. Proactive, self-driven, motivated, hands-on, focused on results

Additional Information
Primarily office based, but may need to travel inside Mexico or to countries in Central America – 3 times a year.
