Sales > SBU MED > Sales Region LATAM

Based in México, this position reporting to Sales Director requires to work in close cooperation with Vestas México team and Sales MED teams.

Vestas MED is an independent Sales Business Unit (SBU) within Vestas Wind Systems A/S, covering markets in the Mediterranean region, the Middle East, Latin America, the Caribbean, Northwest Africa and various African countries (excluding South Africa and Kenya).

Vestas MED is responsible for developing these markets in terms of sales, project installation, and customer service.

General Purpose of the Role / Head of Sales based in México City

The Head of Sales has an essential role to improve the organisation’s market position and achieve Sales business growth.

The selected is responsible to build and maintain customer relationships, identify and help to create new business opportunities, develop, negotiate and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions and ensure that Vestas meets the sales objectives, order intake targets and customer loyalty targets.

To build the value proposition, close deals and achieve the desired results, the Head of Sales shall lead large multi-disciplinary teams, which comprises colleagues in Sales, Operations, Finance and Legal.

Responsibilities and Tasks

The head of sales will oversee the development of LATAM customers, securing the pipeline for the future, screening current opportunities, developing new ones and creating by the involvement of different stakeholders the wind market

  • Provide a day-to-day interaction between Vestas and targeted the customers.
  • Lead and coordinate bid preparations and negotiations.
  • Coordinate and specify technical, financial, pricing, legal, construction and service solutions for the customers, in close corporation with other Vestas departments. Initiate and coordinate international cross border sales activities for those customers.
  • Acquisition of new customers and monitoring market development.
  • Deliver projects Notice to Proceed and secure an appropriate hand-over to Construction area
  • Develop, review and coordinate activities with business development team within regards to Mexican projects
  • Secure customer loyalty by providing customers with optimal support and professionalism in the sales development phase and by supporting through communication and coordination. Develop Partnerships: Ensure, develop and maintain through an Exclusivity Agreements with strategic partners and stakeholders to positioning Vestas technology a as a first wind turbine supplier solution and market leader.

Qualifications and Work Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Master’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) and/or Economics-Business Administration.
  • Postgraduate studies will be specially considered (MBA or specific Finance/ Engineering related master studies)
  • Experienced – min 8 years – in Sales in Mexico and Central America/ Caribbean area. Knowledge on the Energy Sector, Renewable/Wind Energy Market would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of economic, political and cultural terms of targets countries. High learning approach and cultural management.
  • Business Acumen. Good understanding about the value chain Sales, Construction, Service Supply Chain, Finance.
  • High personal drive, independent work style, result oriented and with well adaptation to a change environment. Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven analytical skills will be an advantage.
