Vestas Australia is looking for a talented electrical engineer to join our team as Technical Lead, EBoP Service Specialist. This exciting role involves supporting the electrical balance of plant technical and maintenance service offerings during the Service Sales phase and ongoing maintenance contracts. This position will be based in Melbourne with occasional site visits.
 

The Technical and Commercial Lead of the Service Support Engineering Team operates within Vestas' Power Plant Solutions division. This team holds responsibility for providing technical support and conducting estimations for the Balance of Plant (Electrical) tasks associated with wind farms, specifically for Maintenance Contracts

Responsibilities:

 

  •    Technical Expertise: Developing a deep understanding of EBoP systems and maintenance requirements. Providing technical guidance to clients and internal teams, ensuring our services are of the highest quality.
  •    Create standard service offers like the WTG Global service offers.
  •    Overall responsible for Maintenance concepts and technical and commercial negotiation with stakeholders. 
  •    Solution Customization: Collaborating with clients to understand their unique needs and bring them into standard maintenance solutions accordingly. This customization zone will set us apart as a provider of comprehensive, client-centric services.
  •    Business Development: Identifying new opportunities within the EBoP maintenance market, building relationships with potential clients, and presenting our service offers persuasively.
  •    Pricing Strategy: Collaborating with our pricing team to develop competitive, profitable pricing strategies that reflect the value of our specialized services.
  •    Generally, Consolidation of electrical balance of plant tender packs for release. 
  •    Preparation of detailed bill of quantities to inform electrical contractor pricing.
  •    Ensuring tender packs for release comply with Client requirements, best industrial practices, meeting local standards and compliances, safety regulatory requirements. 
  •    Assist with evaluating electrical contractor tender submissions.  
  •    Develop the scope of work and management of consultants/ contractors in technical aspects. 
  •    Help creating reliability and availability templates involves structuring documents that outline the parameters, calculations, and methodologies related to EBoP reliability and availability.
  •     Monitor and report the pre-calculation and post-calculation. 
  •     Review the reliability and availability reports and suggest improvements. 
  •     Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on general electrical-related queries.
  •    Ad hoc support to internal construction engineers after contract award.


 

Qualifications:

 

  •   Under or Post Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering - recognized by Engineers Australia.
  •   Minimum 10 years' experience.

 

Competencies:

 

  •   Previous EBOP Maintenance contract package work experience is highly valued.
  •    Previous Experience with costings and tenders preferred.
  •     Commercial acumen. 
  •     Knowledge of Australian Standards.
  •     Experience packaging maintenance offers for Underground Cable Systems, HV Substations, and Power Transmission Lines for voltage levels up to 500KV.
  •     Awareness of site constraints applicable to wind farm substations.
  •     Management of consultants and contractors.
  •     Experience in negotiation with stakeholders, both clients/contractors.
  •     Ability to operate within a high-pressure environment.
  •     Advanced use of MS Office.
  •     Strong verbal and written communication/negotiation.
  •    Relationship building, both internal and external.
  •    Proactive view and practical approach toward the role.
  •    Commercial and Risk Awareness.
