Join Vestas Australia for an exciting role within our Power Plant Solutions team as a Senior Functional Leader, Technical and Quality. This position allows you to collaborate with outstanding stakeholders while driving innovations and supporting the Grid portfolio within Vestas APAC.
The APAC Grid function supports the full value chain (Sales, Construction & Service) on grid connection and balance of plant aspects of all projects across the APAC region. The role will work directly with the management team within Grid APAC to provide technical leadership on a range of functional topics.

Responsibilities:
Your main responsibilities as Senior Functional Lead, Grid APAC will be to take technical accountability for a portfolio of functional scope
Responsibilities include:
- Technical and Quality accountability of your functional portfolio, driving an industry leading approach
- Project Optimisation of the portfolio, ensuring the diverse range of stakeholders' expectations are managed and business commitments are achieve
- Process Improvement of technical processes and tools to improve quality, efficiency and scalability
- Technical Mentorship of colleagues working within your portfolio, providing guidance and supporting competence building and growth opportunities
- Contract Negotiations ensuring the contractual commitments on grid connection and electrical matters represent a balanced technically compliant solution at an appropriate risk level
Qualifications:
- Masters/PhD in Power Systems, Power Electronics or similar
- Expert level knowledge of PSCAD or PSS/E or PF
- Able to understand and interpretate complex grid code requirements
- Proven track record in power systems modelling and analysis
- Product knowledge of STATCOM/synchronous condenser/SVC/HVDC system design and control/BESS system (with Grid forming technology) is an advantage
- Experience in substation design and protection design is an advantage
- Experience in renewable grid interconnection analysis for compliance assessment is an advantage
Competencies:
- Proven experience at providing technical leadership of complex power systems topics with high levels of accountability
- Extremely solid communication skills and ability to convey complex information in a simple and concise manner to a variety of technical and commercial stakeholders
- Ability to provide mentorship and technical guidance to a motivated workforce in challenging and high-pressure tendering/execution environments
- Results-oriented, with the ability to be innovative and creative in building technical value propositions and seeking out value optimisation opportunities
- High level of customer focus, with a holistic understanding of how technical solutions impact a business case commercially and contractually
- Professional presentation skills with the ability to present to senior management
