Join Vestas’ Technology & Operations – Onshore – Technical Sales & Project Solutions team, where innovation meets commercial excellence to deliver world-class wind energy solutions. As a Technical Bid Engineer, you will play a key role in translating customer requirements into optimized technical solutions that support competitive and high-quality bids for onshore wind projects.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and project teams to develop technically sound proposals, ensure alignment with customer needs, and contribute to winning sustainable energy projects. You will act as the technical backbone of the bidding process—balancing performance, cost, and risk—while leveraging Vestas’ cutting-edge technology portfolio.

This position acts as a single point of contact for all technical matters within ANZ

  • Overall accountability for the technical solution for a given project.
  • Management of a cross-functional project team of engineers.
  • Local expert on product-related aspects and features
  • Technical contract review, management and negotiation

 

Responsibilities

  •  Single technical point of accountability within a sales deal team
  •  Coordination of regional technical functions to determine wind farm technical solution
  •  Value engineering of the technical solution utilising regional and global resources (optimising yield, loads, cost and risk)
  •  Prepare/review/negotiate technical annexes for EPC and S&I tenders and contracts
  •  Manage and communicate technical risks throughout the bid process until project execution
  •  Key technical interface internally (local sales teams, regional engineering & global R&D/product management) and externally (customer's engineers, BOP Contractors and regulatory bodies)
  •  Build long-term working relationships with key customer technical counterparts
  •  Support Project Execution (construction) and Service into delivery (including a provision of handover to Project Execution)

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  •  Min 3 years experience in renewables and/or power generation (wind preferrable) within project engineering/bid management or sales engineering.

 

Competencies:

  • Strong technical‑commercial mindset
  • Ability to lead technical discussions in customer‑facing environments
  •  Solid understanding of:
         -Contractual and risk implications of technical choices
         -Grid, site, and regulatory constraints
  •  High‑level communication and presentation skills
