Lifecycle Engineering APAC is part of Vestas Engineering & Technology supporting the Service and Construction organizations on technical support and acting as the link between Vestas Technology and local business units.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical support on all the general mechanical components and Drive train support including and not limited to gearboxes, oil analysis, bearings, mechanical endoscopes, and condition monitoring.
  • Secure technical know -how within the group on hydraulic units (pitch system), oil analysis, main shaft arrangement, blade bearings, torque arms, transmission systems, rotating unit, yaw gears and yaw bearings, bolts & torques.
  • Technical documentation.- Ability to translate the technical issues into a business case and support SBU on the continuous improvements.
  • Act as one voice towards the global organization on the Technical issues, and be a single point contact for the R&D.
  • Collaborate with various service units across ASP, understand the pain points, create projects for the cost out ideas.
  • Creating high level technical reports i.e., root cause analysis, inspection & Serious incident report if need.
  • Escalate and work with technology team to approve the cost out ideas for the implementation.
  • Participate in various forums, drive and contribute in various cost out ideas and Turbine availability drivers.
  • Data collection, analysis and deriving projects for driving down cost and increasing the availability.
  • Managing technical projects

 
Qualification:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8-10 years of technical experience.
  • Wind turbine knowledge/experience preferred.
  • Project Management experience (as project participant or project manager) a plus.
  • Six Sigma certification is an advantage

 

Competencies:

  • Proven expertise in the maintenance engineering of hydraulic systems, gearboxes, and bearings is a prerequisite.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a mechanical background specialising in gearboxes, coupled with professional experience in industrial maintenance and research and development (R&D).
