Vestas ANZ have released a unique opportunity for a Senior Manager Ageing Fleet and Pre-Owned Turbines to join our passionate team in Melbourne.

Global Service Commercial - Ageing Fleet is the team responsible for Vestas' aftermarket solutions on pre-owned WTGs, rotor upgrades and PowerPlus.

We interact daily with a global network of market-facing colleagues in our sales regions to understand opportunities and requirements from our customers and work closely with our colleagues in various engineering departments to deliver the most suitable solutions.

Our responsibility to these solutions over their entire lifecycle promotes our focus on quality and consistency, while we always motivate ourselves to accelerate the time to market.

 

Responsibilities

  • Originate, qualify and structured business opportunities for pre-owned WTGs and repowering in Asia Pacific up to productive deal closure
  • Focus especially on solutions to power mines / island mode installations in ANZ region with pre-owned turbines, potentially in hybrid setups
  • Identify, structure and effectively sell pre-owned WTG projects (ready for execution) 
  • Own the development of the long-term commercial potential of the business segment
  • Build a commercially significant and deep sales pipeline for pre-owned solutions to encourage significant business growth over the next 2-5 years
  • Identify supply opportunities for pre-owned WTGs to feed the global and local repair loops and stock for repowering projects
  • Develop technical & commercial sales proposals tailored to the specific market and customer requirements across the Asia Pacific
  • Develop technical & commercial purchase proposals to buy pre-owned WTGs, including possible de-commissioning and other value-adding services
  • Establish and maintain a network of relevant potential partners and subcontractors in the Asia Pacific for the execution of repowering projects or general collaboration around pre-owned WTG solutions
  • Support and monitor the execution of any pre-owned & repowering projects to ensure implementation in line with the commercial agreement
  • Completion to customers' satisfaction
  • Capturing of relevant learnings & best practices
  • Collect relevant customer and market requirements to drive assessment of market potential and strategy for the business segment of pre-owned WTGs and repowering
  • Collect relevant customer and market requirements to provide inputs to the development of new commercial concepts & technical solutions
  • Collaborate closely with a global team of pre-owned WTG specialists to promote the commercial development and growth of this business area

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has prior experience in the wind industry from an OEM, Owner/operator or ISP, working with engineering, construction, and project execution, with a good understanding of core drivers in the ANZ energy market supports the profile
Further qualifications include:

  • Prior experience in commercial, customer-facing roles;
  • Experience working with high commercial/planning complexity, such as in new market entry or new product introduction, and working with problem-solving tools;
  • Participation in large investment projects and experience working with project management tools;
  • Experience working and delivering commercial growth in a highly technical environment
