Vestas have released a position and are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Construction HSE APAC to join our specialised team in Melbourne.

 

The HSE department aims to support the business by providing a HSE System to understand their HSE risk profile, identify local, state/territory, federal legislative HSE requirements and contractual requirements. Also to develop, implement, monitor and improve appropriate plans and controls to ensure effective management of HSE and improvement of HSE culture.

 

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate visible HSE Leadership, coach and support the APAC Construction business and collaborate across other Lines of Business (LoBs) with the objective of cultivating a mature, risk based HSE culture and delivering a smooth client experience from Service/Sales, Construction Hand Over to Service and Lifecycle management
  • Lead a team of regionally-based HSE Managers to directly support the delivery of Construction contracts through implementation of the Vestas HSE Management System
  • Support internal and external stakeholders to manage HSE risk and improve Safety Culture
  • Develop and maintain the local construction HSE Management Systems in alignment with Global and regional HSE standards and to comply with local legislative requirements
  • Deliver targeted injury reduction programs to support reduction of lag indicators such as TRIR and LIFE Cases
  • Support the local and aligned delivery of global and regional tactical plan initiatives
  • Support operations in the HSEMS Implementation, Assurance and Monitoring and reactive support in Incident Management and Emergency Response

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma WHS/OHS/E or higher
  • 10+ years in relevant technical/operational background
  • Experience across Asia Pacific preferred, ANZ Construction experience as a minimum is a must

 

Competencies

  • Lead Auditor and TapRoot or ICAM Investigation Lead
  • Stakeholder management skills and an ability to build relationship growth
  • Microsoft office skills of above medium level or higher, notably Excel
  • A passion for HSE and providing a safe environment for all, especially leading from the front lines
