Vestas Development have released a new position for an experienced and collaborative Finance Business Partner & Controller to join our expert development team in Melbourne.

 

 

Development Finance is the finance business partner to Vestas' project development arm. Vestas Development develops wind power projects from greenfield to ready-to-build. The portfolio under development amounts to 27 GW across 11 core markets on 5 continents. 

 

The role of Development Finance is to be a forward-looking business partner to the Global Head of Development and the Regional Heads. We are responsible for the financial soundness of the Development strategy; we provide timely, insightful and actionable reporting and ensure financial compliance of project entities; and we work to continuously improve processes to ensure scalability of the business.

 

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Copenhagen-based VP Development Finance, and with dotted lines to the regional heads of development, you will be the dedicated Development Finance Business Partner & Controller for the Australia and Greater Asia regions.

 

You will be part of a global team and also work closely with dedicated controllers in our Shared Service Center in Manila.

 

  • Business Partnering: Provide timely, relevant and forward-looking financial insights to support decision-making
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for the regions
  • Financial Reporting and Controlling: Contribute to the monthly financial close process. Prepare and present financial reports to regional head and HQ
  • Enabling the development business through SPV set-up, bank account opening, capital injections etc
  • Ensure compliance to local regulations through timely filing of tax returns and statutory accounts
  • Control of project costs as per budget approvals in coordination with project managers
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to enhance financial processes and drive efficiency within the Group Finance function
  • Build and maintain relationships with dedicated colleagues in the Shared Service Center in Manila

 

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with developing and changing ways of working to improve efficiency
  • Experience with project governance, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in SAP, BPC, BI tools as PowerBI, or other ERP systems
  • Expert experience with MS Office, especially Excel
