We are seeking a person with an understanding of the construction drivers of large-scale projects, who will play a critical role in developing wind farm projects. You will be a core member of the deal teams, working alongside commercial and technical experts, to bring the projects to financial close.

You will work on projects in the tender phase and play an important part in developing the robust portfolio that Vestas Australia and New Zealand is currently building.

Customer Project Execution - APAC > Customer Project Execution > Bid Management and Construction Proposal

The Construction Proposal Manager is a precontracts role, which sits within the broader Customer Project Execution (CPX) team.

Working collaboratively with the Bid, Sales, Engineering and Planning teams, you will be responsible for developing robust and competitive EPC and S&I offers for some of the Southern Hemisphere's largest wind farms.

 

Responsibilities:

Lead the development of price, program and methodology for the delivery of construction related elements for new wind farm projects across Australia and New Zealand

Negotiation of construction annexures in turbine supply and EPC agreements with wind farm developers, and provide guidance and support in contractor negotiations 

Identify potential design and construction risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies 

Drive value for money and lateral solutions by leveraging Vestas 'full service' capabilities across construction, manufacture and service to ensure high customer value creation

Identify and develop early works opportunities to improve customer value during the project bidding and sales phase.

Provide direction and guidance to Project Planners in the development of master programs

 

Qualifications:

We are looking for a person with qualifications and experience that align with the below. We are open to receiving applications from candidates who may not meet all criteria but can demonstrate relevant experience. 

• 8+ years of project management experience in civil and electrical works

• Hands‑on experience on complex construction or energy projects

• Demonstrated experience conducting risk analysis and supporting in the creation of project programs

•  An understanding of the construction drivers for renewable projects

•  Experience in commercial negotiations

•  An understanding of contracts, risk and finance

•  Ability to lead and draw together multi-discipline teams to deliver cohesive solutions

 

Competencies:

•  Strong Project Management principles and understanding of the project lifecycle
•  Strong health and safety mindset 
•  Strategic capabilities with commercial understanding 
•  Able to collaborate across cultures and foster a supportive team environment
•  Passion for large-scale projects 
•  Willing to travel occasionally to green and brown field wind farm sites across Australia and New Zealand
