The technical sales management department is the regional arm of our global product management organisation, which links our sales business unit and our customer needs towards the central power solutions team, responsible for the global product development in Vestas. The Technical Bid Specialist role within technical sales management is a highly diversified role that requires solid technical skills as well as a solid commercial mindset. You will work with our commercial Sales group, our customers as well as central engineering functions which requires significant communication and interfacing skills to promote regional growth in NCE by ensuring the best possible technical solution for our customers. 


Your main responsibilities as a Technical Bid Specialist will be to ensure timely responses to customer enquiries, prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders, lead the technical value optimization of wind farms and guide the technical negotiations together with the sales manager and customers. In addition, you will be part of shaping Vestas future product portfolio by defining market requirement and regional customer needs.

  • Effectively supervise the technical value engineering of customer projects and direct technical negotiations as an active member of the Sales team
  • Ensure timely responses to customer enquiries, prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders, as well as technical annexes and contract schedules 
  • You are expected to take the full responsibility for the technical solution and value optimization during the sales phase
  • After an intensive induction, you will be assigned to Vestas' sales activities mainly in the Nordic markets and in further consequence, to other markets within the region such as UK, Ireland, Benelux and South Africa.
  • You will need to network to build relationships with the key technical people in your customers' organisation, promoting their requirements inside Vestas and ensuring they prefer to use Vestas
  • Be the link between the local sales organisation and VPS (Vestas Power Solutions) for general technical matters and with Product Management in R&D
  • Understanding of the market, customer business cases and sales' perspective in general; track of the local rules and legislation and participate in working groups where required to define the right set of market requirements



  • Engineering background (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energies or related) combined with commercial insight/interest or commercial background with solid interest in understanding of technical aspects 
  • Experience in directing technical negotiations, ideally of heavy machinery, power plant equipment or similar 
  • Work experience of minimum 3 years
  • Previous experience in wind energy, product management, technical sales or industrial plant environment would be beneficial
  • Fluent in business English required; Swedish/Danish both spoken and written would be preferred. Fluency in another Scandinavian or Dutch language would be an advantage
  • Ability to direct and coordinate a team of engineers 
  • Holistic understanding of the commercial and legal aspects of technical solutions

  • The ability to be flexible, organised and collaborative with proven experience working in dynamic and intensive environments
  • The ability to be innovative and creative with a mindset towards results 
  • Creative solution identification and a high degree of motivation to satisfy customer needs 
  • Travel availability across the region

Additional information
Primary preferred work location will be Malmö, Sweden; Aarhus, Denmark; Arnhem, Netherlands or Hamburg, Germany. Alternative working location set up upon discussion with hiring manger. This position requires approximately 25% time for travel.
