Global Development is a newly established strategic business line that brings new growth while supporting the existing business in all development aspects. The function's main responsibilities are to originate and develop new wind and hybrid projects across the globe. We are both working with our own resources as well as via development partnerships that are established and managed by the group. The team is engaged both in Mergers and Acquisitions transactions and organic growth, subject to market strategies and opportunities in the market.
You will take up a key role in the department's activities in the region, being responsible for the project management and execution of all phases of project development of wind and hybrid projects across the Nordic region, with primary and initial focus in Sweden, however in the long run this might expand to more regions. You will be responsible for engaging with landowners, authorities, consultants and other stakeholders to secure necessary land rights, community support and permits for the projects. Sustainability is the core of our business, and we expect you to have as the corner stone for everting you do.
You will report to the Global Development Lead in the Nordic region and you will have an innovative role in a growing team to act as a trusted advisor and driver for both creating new opportunities and carrying out development activities.
 
Responsibilities 

  • Screen for new potential project sites, perform required studies, compile reports and make recommendations for appropriate development activities 
  • Define, monitor and report on the project development plans and budgets, ensuring cost control and progress in line with approved time schedules and budget
  • Ensure appropriate reporting and documentation of the projects and full transparency to internal stakeholders
  • Responsible for sourcing, negotiating and handle documentation and contracts with potential stakeholders, consultants and subcontractors.

 
Qualifications

  • Solid experience with project management and project development within wind, energy, telecom, infrastructure or similar
  • An education at university level within business or engineering (preferably Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical or other relevant direction)
  • GIS experience is a valuable asset
  • Experience with seeking permits for similar projects
  • Experienced in Microsoft office tools, ERP software (e.g. SAP) and Project management tools (e.g Primavera)
  • English at negotiation level. Other languages (e.g Swedish, Norwegian or Finnish) are an absolute advantage.

 
Competencies

  • Solid business understanding and understanding of key risks and value drivers associated with wind farm development 
  • Able to maintain and present an overview when needed, but expected to be detail-oriented and in control of all aspects of the projects
  • Structured and organised - capable of handling all phases of project development and continuously evaluate progress and risks in comparison to plans and budget
  • Capable of combining entrepreneurial mindset and adherence to processes and best practice procedures
  • Being able to articulate and present the key elements of the projects to both internal and external stakeholders, incl Vestas' Executive Management.

Additional Information
The position is based in Malmö, Sweden, however we do not expect you to be in the office on a daily basis, but you need to have the ability to come to the Malmö office.
Travel activity: 20-50 days annually.
