The department Global Operations Engineering is a part of the Vestas Service organization. We are currently expanding the organization with highly qualified employees. The department is responsible for delivering service solutions on all brands enabling the service business within Vestas to fulfil its ambitious, strategic targets. The service solutions vary from product developments like Rotor upgrades (Vestas/Non-Vestas), Software developments for mix-match configurations, improvements like component life extensions, optimizations of performance and cost-out initiatives. The department holds the responsibility for service/aftersales solutions on the installed fleet. We are responsible for delivering innovative solutions to ensure highest possible value to Vestas customers in the service business. The team is located in different geographical locations and is expanding to meet the demand of a growing and challenging business.

 

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will cover:

  • Development and tuning of control algorithms
  • Implementation of control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Control performance data analysis in turbine/fleet level controller tuning and optimisation
  • Feasibility studies of new wind turbine products aiming at optimizing power, loads, and noise performance through innovative use of sensors, controllers and actuators
  • Verification on all levels, including software tests and field testing
  • Risk management activities such as risk assessments and failure mode and effect
  • Develop & support Innovation & conceptual projects.
  • Besides these areas you also possess a broad insight and understanding of the turbine components and control strategy

 

Qualifications

  • Ph.D / Master's / Bachelor's in Electrical / Electro - Mechanical / Instrumentation & controls / Controls / Similar specialization
  • 4-7 years of Working experience in Simulation/Modelling tools such as MATLAB SIMULINK
  • Solid Competence in Mathematical modeling of Electro-Mechanical, Hydraulic Systems
  • Working knowledge of Control Design and Control Tuning using a Model-Based Control Approach

 

Competencies

  • Solid in Control Theory
  • Programming knowledge in C++, SQL
  • Control System Modelling, Controller Design, Controller Tuning & Controller Verification
  • Good knowledge in Power generation concepts
  • Knowledge in Aero Dynamics
  • Preference will be given for candidate with experience in Wind Turbine Controls
