Are you ready to play a key role in accelerating the energy transition in Spain?

 

Vestas Development Spain is looking for a motivated, structured, and collaborative Project Development Professional to join our team. If you are motivated by strategic decision-making and want to oversee utility-scale wind projects from the start of development through Ready-to-Build, this role may be right for you.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

In this role, you will manage the development of a diverse portfolio of wind energy projects within Spain, working in close collaboration with local colleagues, external stakeholders, and global Vestas business units. Your main tasks will include:

Project Lifecycle Management: Manage and coordinate wind energy projects through key stages: land securing, grid connection, permitting, and project design.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain close, trust-based relationships with landowners, local communities, grid operators, and public administrations.

Permitting & Compliance: Manage the environmental permitting processes and ensure all projects strictly comply with local and national regulations.

Project Economics: Monitor and optimize project economics and business cases to ensure financial viability and strategic alignment.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, legal, procurement, and construction teams to move projects forward through the pipeline.

 

Qualifications

To ensure a smooth integration into our team, we are looking for candidates who bring:

Academic Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Environmental Sciences, or Law. Please note that other academic profiles with relevant experience in renewable energy development will also be highly considered.

Experience: Relevant experience in managing renewable energy projects in Spain, specifically wind energy.

Language Skills: Fluency in Spanish (essential for local stakeholder management and permitting) and professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken).

 

Competencies

You possess solid project management and organizational skills with a "finisher" mindset.

You have solid experience in environmental permitting processes and regulations in Spain.

You bring demonstrated skill in contracting, including land agreements and service contracts, as well as stakeholder management.

You have familiarity with project economics and financial feasibility analysis.

You demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
