A Wind Turbine Installation Department is the team responsible for making sure wind turbines are safely and correctly installed at a wind farm. They organize everything needed to build a turbine from the ground up - from preparing the site to lifting the tower, nacelle, and blades into place. The department coordinates workers, equipment, transport, and safety procedures so the installation happens smoothly and on schedule. They work with engineers, crane operators, technicians, and external partners to ensure every part fits correctly and the turbine is ready for final testing. In simple terms: They are the team that manages and carries out the physical installation of the turbines, ensuring the work is done safely, efficiently, and according to the required standards.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for safety and quality on pads​
• Perform installation tasks during mobilization, installation, and demobilization phases
• Lead and oversee installation teams within the WTG
• Maintain a safe working environment and serve as a role model for both technicians and clients
• Facilitate knowledge sharing among peers and technicians
• Ensure the correct completion of the required installation documents (quality, assembly and NCR)​
• Follow delivery of components and trackability​
• Conduct WTGs Walkdowns inspections

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, Engineering, Vocational Training

Competencies

• Technical knowledge of wind turbine components and installation procedures
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Effective leadership and team management skills
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical safety standards
• Experience with heavy lifting operations and crane coordination
• Risk assessment and hazard identification skills
• Clear communication and reporting abilities
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills in urgent situations
• Familiarity with quality assurance and compliance processes
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (engineers, technicians, subcontractors)
