Are you an experienced Legal Counsel who values sustainability in the energy sector?
At Vestas, we are looking for someone like you to support our Construction department in delivering high-quality wind energy projects across the Iberia and South Africa regions.
About the Department
The Construction department is responsible for the execution of wind energy projects, from engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) to the installation and commissioning of wind turbines. We work closely with Sales and other business units to ensure the timely completion of each project.
Your Responsibilities
As part of our on-site team, you will:
- Oversee contractor activities, ensuring compliance with Vestas’ safety, quality, and procedural standards.
- Manage day-to-day on-site operations, including planning schedules, tracking deliverables, and updating records in SAP.
- Coordinate with installation teams, service technicians, subcontractors, and client representatives to keep work running smoothly and safely.
- Deliver site inductions for all personnel and represent Vestas in client meetings.
- Monitor quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) compliance, keeping detailed records and reports.
- Lead daily toolbox talks, task briefings, and manage work boards.
- As needed, participate directly in turbine work to support operational needs.
- Approve timesheets, expenses, travel, and leave requests for site teams.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Degrees in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Industrial Management Engineering, as they provide the technical and organizational knowledge required for field operations, team coordination, and installation supervision. At the postgraduate level, valuable programs include Master's degrees in Renewable Energy, Occupational Health & Safety (HSE), Project Management, Maintenance Engineering, or specialized studies in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, offering deeper preparation aligned with the challenges of the wind energy sector.
- Proficient in English, with a minimum requirement of C1 level.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Iberia and South Africa (this is a field-based role).
- Experience in construction or energy sector projects, within wind energy or heavy machinery industries.
Competencies:
- Effective leadership and coordination skills.
- Comfortable working with clients, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Capable of supervising diverse technical teams in rapidly evolving settings.
