Vestas Mediterranean (MED) is an independent Sales Business Unit (SBU) within Vestas Wind Systems A/S, covering markets in the Mediterranean region, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa. Vestas MED is responsible for developing these markets in terms of sales, project installation, and customer service.
The Customer Project Execution (CPX) department is in charge of all wind farm projects from tendering up to completion. The team takes responsibility for a wind farm once a contract has been signed and remains responsible until the final tests are completed. Working closely with the logistics, procurement and finance departments, the team has to keep the project on budget and on schedule, and ensures our rigorous safety and quality standards are met. It also works closely with the sales and legal departments to ensure each wind farm delivers the highest energy yield within the client's specification.
Responsibilities
Depending on the Lead Specialist Electrical Engineer, the key responsibilities this person will have:
- Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Vestas', its customers' and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
- Support to Project Management on EPC Contract implementation phase on engineering, construction, test and commissioning activities.
- Supervise construction works: collector system, substation, overhead and underground transmission lines, etc. are carried out according to the executive design and to Vestas Quality standards.
- Ensure the establishment of the electrical implementation vision & strategy, based on the contract, to reach the project performance goals.
- Ensure subcontracts' compliance with projects requirements and contract/ customer expectations
- Engineering follow up and site updates until As-built.
- Travel for site/factory visit and works follow up national and international as required.
- Ensure the key targets for each project including profitability, cash flow and time.
- Assistance to SPM on Client's/Subcontractor's variations and negotiations for Electrical BOP issues.
- Collaboration with SCM on Subcontractors selection, negotiations and Subcontracts awarding.
- Local BOP input and Feed Back on Request for Quotation Packages for Subcontractors, Technical Proposals for Clients and Technical Specifications.
Qualifications
- MSc Electrical Engineering.
- 1-3 years of experience in substations, electrical engineering and construction sites in the Wind Energy field.
- Experience working on site, carrying out project engineering activities on site on wind farms. Other experiences such as transmission lines construction/engineering as well as protection and control systems in substations will be valued.
- Fluent in English and Spanish languages. Knowledge of Portuguese, French, Arab or Romanian will be considered as positive.
- Driving License.

Additional info
- Being open to travel is required. This is a site electrical engineer position and it is expected that the candidate selected will travel 50% of time to different wind farms in MED region.
