EMEA Accountant - Madrid, Spain

Vestas Development is a newly established business unit within Vestas. The function's main responsibilities are to originate and develop new wind projects across the globe via its own resources as well as via development partnerships that are established and supervised by the group. In light of rapid growth, we are now looking for an Accountant for our team in EMEA & LATAM.

Responsibilities

• Support on Virtual data room accounting and Tax supporting documentation.

• Support on closing accounts in a selling process.

• Identify process improvement opportunities and embrace initiatives.

• Month-end reporting including all associated processes and controls.

• Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax returns and statutory accounts.

• Review and deliver annual accounts in collaboration with external advisors

• Ensure accounting treatment in line with Group policies and guidelines.

• Ensure expenses are capitalized in the projects according to defined criteria.

• Support the business in the analysis of potential risks and forming strategies

• Ensure compliance with guidelines and controls for the Development Business.

Qualifications

• +3 years of professional experience within a Tax/ Accounting/Auditing department.

• Experience with financial consolidation systems such as SAP, BPC or similar.

• Extensive general accounting experience gained in a medium to large business operating in a commercial or industry environment.

• Experience working within an international reporting environment.

• Fluent English.
