Vestas Development is a newly established business unit within Vestas that promotes new growth while supporting the existing business in all development aspects. The function's main responsibilities are to lead the origination & development of new wind / hybrid projects across the globe. Within, Vestas Development EMEA & LATAM (Region), the Commercial and Origination department is overall responsible for the origination of profitable new leads, project valuation/financing analysis, deal structuring, and finally the commercialization/sell-down after development completion, always working closely together with the regional development teams.

 

 Responsibilities

 

As the manager of Development Financial Analysis you will join a small, fast-paced, commercial team with global reach and broad scope reporting to the head of the Commercial & Origination, with a team of analyst reporting to you. The ideal candidate is a motivated, extroverted all-rounder with high analytical and communication abilities. A high degree of professionalism and autonomy in handling senior internal and external stakeholders is expected. 

 

•   Responsible for the Development Financial Analysis team, which include overseeing the project and portfolio valuation and the financial analysis during M&A processes. 

•   Responsible for the financial analysis for the internal approvals, including internal alignment with the necessary Vestas subject matter experts for the structuring and approval of the deal.

•   Prepare project financial models for various development, debt and equity financed structures.

•   Draft or review commercial proposals, development budget, and project valuation. 

•   Support the region with structuring new leads and investment opportunities in the Region.

•   Structure, draft and negotiate project development, M&A and joint venture agreements in the EMEA&LATAM region.

•   Assist or oversee the sales processes of wind projects / portfolios in the Region.

•   Create presentations and other materials for key stakeholders including executive management and external financing parties.

•   Work individually as well as collaboratively with various internal subject matter experts to evaluate substantive issues around tax, accounting, financing, structuring, and legal considerations impacting in wind energy transactions.

 

Qualifications

 

•   Master level degree with focus on business or quantitative analysis (e.g. Finance, Engineering, etc.) 

•   3 - 5 years of financial modeling/analysis and structured finance. 

•   Experience structure, drafting and negotiating project M&A cross-border transactions is highly valued. 

•   Renewable energy or infrastructure industry experience is highly valued

•   Strong in quantitative analysis with enhanced Excel modeling skills.
