We are looking for Service Technician in Macmerry to support our growth. The service department is responsible for the service and maintenance of the wind farms within the UK and Ireland. The department has an open and informal culture, where teamwork and good communication is the key to our success. You will have the opportunity to work in an exciting industry and a team of highly motivated employees.
You will be required to develop a detailed knowledge of our wind turbines to enable you to perform daily maintenance and repairs and other field service-related tasks. Working to the highest safety and environmental standards whilst ensuring that service targets are met, you will be part of a team of service technicians working throughout the region.


As Service Technician your primary tasks will be:


  • Electrical and mechanical operations - also covering installation activities, usage of our systems like Condition Monitoring / Remote Control, creating follow-up orders. You will work with high voltage
  • Working to the highest safety and environmental standards whilst ensuring that service targets are met, you will be part of a team of technicians working throughout the region
  • Other responsibilities will be to carry out periodic service inspections following Vestas specifications together with component replacement (both electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic) and troubleshooting on the systems
  • Working with both the other technicians and supervisors in the field, whilst also having regular contact with the office-based staff




  • Proven history of mechanical, electrical electronics background, with good solid evidence of problem-solving and fault-finding. (an AT/CT under WTSR)
  • Formal qualification in at least one of the above have attended an apprenticeship
  • The ability to work at a height of 100 meters and in adverse weather conditions
  • Full, clean driving license
  • Fluency in English in speaking and writing
  • A good level of computer literacy used to the software, apps, and related




  • Great proven problem solving and fault-finding skills
  • You like working in a team and communicating with other parts of the organization
  • A creative approach, be self-motivated and well organized
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally
  • A good understanding of, and commitment to, the highest standard of health & safety in the work environment

Additional Information

This position will be located from our Service Hub in Macmerry / Scotland Southand working on wind farms in the region. A requirement for this position is passing an extensive health check that will be carried out during the probation period.
Travel across the UK region is expected from time to time. Possibly further training in Denmark may be expected.
