Logistics Coordinator

As a global leader in renewables and growing pipeline across Australia and New Zealand, a new opportunity exists for a highly motivated and skilled Purchasing Officer to join our Tools and Equipment department at our Dandenong site.

 

Sales > Global Construction Management > Warehouse Tools Melbourne

 

You’ll be part of a motivated team with the ability to juggle tasks and thrive in a fast moving environment to support the Service and Construction sites. The department plays a vital role by providing relevant tools to construction in order to effectively install wind turbines and provide tools for main component repair and change to service.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting research on potential products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal is obtained. You are also required to
  • Place orders as required, monitor stocks levels and update all records of purchased products as
  • Ensure safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of tools to wind farm locations in close collaboration with construction, service, procurement and quality
  • Meeting with vendors to negotiate the best contract terms and pricing
  • Liaising with delivery and warehouse teams to ensure goods are received on time
  • Inspecting purchased products upon delivery and reporting any issues timely
  • Writing reports on purchases made and performing cost analyses
  • Attending and contributing to meetings with staff and other stakeholders within Vestas global
  • Working within set budgets 

 

Qualifications:

  • Certificate I/V in Purchasing/Logistics helpful but not essential
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in purchasing ideally for a multinational organisation

 

Competencies:

  • Good working knowledge of SAP (Module used PE1) 
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Previous experience in purchasing ideally from a construction, resources, logistics environment
  • Good time management skills with the ability to multitask and work on competing priorities
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders both nationally and globally
