Quality Engineer

Blades > Blade Introduction Center > VBIC Quality
In Vestas Manufacturing is the Blades organisation. The Blades division is responsible for the global production of blades, and has factories in Europe, Asia and North America. Located in Lem, Denmark is the Vestas Blade Introduction Center (VBIC), where we develop, produce and mature our new blade types before we transfer the new technologies to internal and external factories around the globe. 

The Quality department is an important part of VBIC organisation and consists of 22 employees hereof 7 as quality engineers/specialist and 15 hourly paid Quality Instructors with a Team leader. Quality Instructors are primarily working directly with the production areas, supporting with quality solutions for test lines and new product introduction.


As a Quality Engineer you will work with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), where you will have a broad collaboration with staff functions internal in VBIC and with our technology division (Vestas Power Solutions). To outline some of the tasks - but not limited to - you will:

  • Secure reviews of risk analysis (PFMEA) and control plans
  • Secure test in relation to MSA
  • Root cause analysis
  • Data analysis process capability

Together with other engineers in the department, you will be an important part of preparing the technology transfer to other blade factories. You will have a close collaboration with the different project teams during the introduction of new blade types.



To be an interesting candidate for us, you might have: 

  • A formal education as an engineer
  • Experience/knowledge of how to work with quality management at a high level
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience with quality management, preferably from an international production
  • Experience with the principals of PFMEA; SPC; MSA and control plans as well as a master toolbox e.g. CTQ; PFMEA; 8D and experience in Lean tools
  • Good IT-skills and are an experienced user Microsoft Office-packed. It is an advantage if you know the statistics program Mini tab
  • Great communication skills to communicate clearly in English. Danish proficiency is an advantage

Furthermore, it is needed that you have a data-mindset to clarify to others why quality improvements are necessary. In the end it will be your responsibility to make sure that the quality part is ready for the technology transfer.
