Power Solutions > Aerodynamic & Mechanical > Generator Sub Module

The Vestas Power Solution business unit brings the technology development of our wind turbine products. We are responsible for its development, verification, and industrialisation. It is here that we lay the technological foundation for staying ahead as the global leader within sustainable energy. The Powertrain Module area in Aerodynamic & Mechanical consists out of highly skilled employees situated in locations around the world. The department is accountable for the Powertrain System converting the mechanical energy from the wind into electrical energy. The Powertrain System consists of main components such as the main gearbox, generator, main shaft bearings, lubrication system, and auxiliary components such as brake, coupling, and suspension/damper system. In the Generator Sub Module, we build our designs on a long tradition of both in-house and externally supplied generator products of both induction & synchronous types.

We work hard to embed innovation and bring novel technologies into predictable product performance values. Our own generator manufacturing capabilities are here the golden nugget.



  • As a Technical Documentation Engineer, you will work directly on creating, planning, and improving a continuously more modular technical documentation
  • Create and maintain intuitive and effective step-by-step guides
  • Build, optimize and organize technical documentation
  • Work closely with the Design Leads, Designers, and the development team to ensure the quality and accuracy of the content you create
  • Take a role in securing the generator team's institutional memory, by maintaining and expanding our joined knowledge bank in a visual accessible format
  • Secure modular documentation, by working with innovative excel workbooks, controlled by macros and VB-script
  • Work / learn to work with One Note, Creo Parametric, Creo view, Creo Illustrate, Windchill, Excel Macro's, and VB-coding, according to team practice


  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. within Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Effective verbal and written communication with English as the primary working language
  • Work experience with Microsoft Package


  • You are enthusiastic about elegant, simple, and engaging technical writing
  • High degree of personal planning
  • Team-oriented person
  • Ability and interest in stakeholder management including coordination, planning, and reporting
