Converter & Electrical Module is a part of Vestas Power Solutions, and the Module consists of several Sub Modules concentrated on power conversion and transformation. The Converter & Electrical Module is responsible for the technology and product development of Converters, Transformers, Switchgears, and HV cables. The Converter Control Hardware & Firmware Sub Module develops and maintains all embedded converter software, controller HW, SW tools, real-time simulation platforms, and SW test systems for all, converters. We provide first-in-classVesta’s converter solutions with quality meeting system and grid requirements. As Sub Module Owner of Converter Control Hardware & Firmware, you will have direct reports in Denmark and Portugal, and you will report to the Module Owner of Converter & Electrical Module and be part of the Module management tea

 

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the Sub Module and the performance of the team, i.e. delivering high-quality, safe, sustainable, and durable design solutions on time at the agreed cost taking the entire value chain and life cycle into account. You will develop employees through coaching and target setting. You must ensure solid collaboration inside and outside of Vestas Power Solutions, with creative contact with relevant stakeholders to always seek the best for Vesta’s solutions. You must have a good overview of all tasks going on in the Sub Module and be prepared to communicate time schedules and resource constraints and negotiate priorities.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring timely execution of Sub Module deliverables such as high-quality solutions and documentation.

  • Coordinating resource planning and delegation of work and budget control.

  • In collaboration with project managers; facilitating planning sessions and following up on progress.

  • Motivated talent management and development

  • Skilled people performance and development dialogue (incl. one-to-one, target setting, and development plans)

  • Coaching employees in the execution of daily tasks

 

Full life cycle involvement of all stakeholders for the Sub Module as well as delivering the needed solutions and documentation for the full value chain within the scope of the Sub Module

  • Responsible for the technical quality of the Sub Module for all product variants, having the approval authority for the Sub Module level

  • Recruiting new employees and scaling with consultants

  • Building and maintaining stakeholder relations across Vestas.

  • Identifying optimizations in processes and solutions.

  • Embracing opportunities and changes

 

Qualifications

  • Proven management performance in a large cross-cultural organization

  • A bachelor/master's in relevant areas within the embedded software domain

  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience as an embedded software Engineer

  • Experienced in management of embedded engineering Engineering teams

  • Cross-cultural understanding and for instance experience with international companies
