Our Software & Tools Sub-Module is responsible for building and maintaining our SW toolset. It aims at directing our digital journey within a broader department called Power System Integration in Vestas' R&D organization. The Software & Tools team is being built to strengthen our SW capabilities by developing SW tools, streamlining workflows and processes, as well as to bring new SW products to life. It has an important role in accelerating our digital power plant solutions. We aim at doing our part in assisting Vestas' reaching its vision of becoming the global leader in sustainable energy solutions through the delivery of high-quality software while supporting our organization with increased levels of automation, digitalization, and process efficiency. In developing our SW ecosystem, we collaborate with different parts of our organization, from R&D to operations, having a global presence that supports Vestas' worldwide business. Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer your main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain and develop a new set of applications that range from desktop applications, Web APIs to simple scripts that enhance our productivity, quality, and time to market
  • Play an important role in our API journey, decoupling our back-end and front-end solutions
  • Contribute to developing our SW architecture with a service-oriented approach
  • Support the deployment of an efficient IT infrastructure and SW architecture for our products
  • Software engineering activities optimizing our tools performance and availability, working with other Software and IT departments
  • Define SW development best practices and democratize them across our broader departments

 

Qualifications

  • B.Sc or M.Sc. in Software Engineering or Computer Science 
  • Professional experience within software engineering (3-5 years of working experience)
  • Experience using C#, .NET platform, and Python
  • Experience with C++ is an added value
  • Experience with SQL databases and Object-relational mapping (ORM)
  • Experience with Web APIs development (ASP.NET Core / Flask)
  • Experience with WPF / MVVM pattern for .NET desktop development
  • Experience with Web frontend development (HTML / CSS / Javascript / Angular / React) is an added value
  • Experience with Test Driven Development is an added value
  • Experience with CI/CD solutions is an added value (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Knowledge of software development tools such as Jira and Git is and added value
