Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas or technologies are matured, developed, tested, and improved. To put it short, Vestas power Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. Simulation Development is responsible for propelling, defining, and ensuring that both short and long-term targets are met for HOW we simulate physical phenomena across our wind turbine platforms and modules. The department is also responsible for the overall simulation strategy and thereby HOW our simulation tools - both proprietary, bespoke, and commercial - are working together.

 

Responsibilities

Shape innovations

  • You are responsible for developing the overall principles for the software architecture for simulation tools.

Master complexity

  • Your responsibility includes developing overarching architectural rules, patterns and guidelines as well as providing the required processes, technologies and tools. Thereby, you consider the impact of relevant internal regulations and governance such as Security etc. You also integrate new concepts from modern software development.

Creativity and freedom

  • You work in a innovative environment and you have the courage to leave behind the usual approaches. You follow the evolution of new software technologies, consider them in the design of future architectures and define forward their implementation.

Guarantee Customer Value and Quality

  • You develop methods and solutions to enforce architectural rules, measure and guarantee solid quality by automated means.

Connecting Developers

  • You are directly involved in diverse software development projects in order to identify enabling technologies and overarching solutions for simulation tools. As a result, you define a technology roadmap enabling maximum implementation speed with the right quality.

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software or Information Technology or a similar Engineering degree

 

Competencies 

  • Quick-wittedness and solid capability to familiarize with complex issues
  • Well-developed communication and teamwork skills and integrative personality when dealing with different disciplines and cultures
  • Great personal initiative, sense of responsibility, and perseverance
  • Experience in the management and implementation of IT projects
  • Knowledge on distributed systems and their situations
  • Knowledge in agile software development
  • Programming experience (ideally Python)
  • Great motivation and commitment as well as innovative mindset
  • Danish language skills are welcomed but are not required. Vestas is a multi-cultural and global company and international applicants are very welcome
