The Advanced Sensing and Diagnostics Sub Module is part of the Turbine Control Software Module within Vestas Power Solutions. As such, we are responsible for delivering the software for the most complex sensor solutions, e.g., Wind Sensing, Tower Accelerations and Blade Load Sensing. Furthermore, our mission is to create smart sensor signals, which enable the turbine to run more reliably and efficiently, or enable us to detect current and potential future defects to improve our service business and thus create value for Vestas and our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure project deliveries for our technical and turbine projects as part of an agile team
  • Be responsible for advancing one or more of our key results to ensure high team efficiency and best practices
  • Conduct root cause analysis to pinpoint potential turbine performance issues
  • Help define functional and non-functional software requirements for turbine control systems
  • Develop new advanced algorithms for smart sensing and diagnostics solutions
  • Contribute to the refinement and advancement of processes, software, and tools

Qualifications

  • Master's in software engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar background
  • 7 years' experience in embedded software & data analytics environment. Experience with C++, MATLAB / Simulink
  • Good skills within physics and data analytics, which enable you to understand turbine physics easily and analyze large sets of data efficiently
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

This is a hybrid position based in Porto, Portugal.
