Vestas Technology & Operations - Research & Development (R&D) brings the technology development of our wind turbine products. We are responsible for its development, verification, and industrialization.

It is here that we lay the technological foundation for reinforcing our position in sustainable energy. The Powertrain Module area in Nacelle R&D is accountable for the Powertrain System, converting the mechanical energy from the wind into electrical energy. In the Powertrain Quality Sub Module, the primary focus is to improve quality through design. This includes supporting, facilitating, and monitoring de-risk activity through Closed Loop Quality, as well as managing RCA activities for quality cases related to Bearing, gearbox, torque arm, coupling and generator components.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee closed-loop quality and systemic RCA activity
  • Support on LPF Monitoring and Prediction
  • Support RCA activity for CIM, QBD, NC, and alarm cases, including gathering safety data from the value chain
  • Support in maintaining the knowledge base and facilitating the sharing of learnings and best practices
  • Follow up on Critical to Quality tasks, maintain the risk register for lead & lag Indicator
  • Special characteristic (CTQ) evaluation & implementation at the supplier and factory, including evaluation and prediction
  • PTR Quality representative in audit for the internal factory and suppliers

 

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in mechanical, chemical, automobile, production or similar
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in risk management and continuous Improvement activities
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Lean/APQP4WIND and audit experience is recommended

Additional information

This is a hybrid position based in Porto, Portugal, and requires up to 15 days of travel per year.
