As an Engineer in Grid & eBoP Integration, you will be a part of a highly skilled team within Vestas R&D, with the focus of building the foundations for grid connections for Vestas Hybrid Power Plants through development of grid analysis methodologies and integration of new plant assets. We have team members with both senior expertise from transmission system operators, highly skilled academia- and long industry background. This position is placed in Porto, Portugal. You will also have close colleagues in Denmark.



Your main responsibilities and tasks will be:

  • Promote root cause analysis and propose solutions
  • Develop technical solutions to address specific issues to integrate hybrid power plants into the grid without impacting stability and reliability
  • Engineering activities in optimizing our analysis skills and generic plant design of our Vestas Hybrid Power Plants
  • Support the scoping of technology projects and feasibility studies in the area, to support our technology roadmap



  • Demonstrated technical accomplishments within power systems analysis or power system modelling
  • Understand complex power system issues and phenomena
  • Master's Degree in Power System Engineering from an accredited university or engineering college
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience as a Power System Engineer from a reputed company where you have participated in the project execution in as a part of matrix organisation
  • Solid knowledge of simulation tools (It might be at least one of the following: PSS/E, DigSilent/ PowerFactory, and PSCAD)
  • Experience in Power System Steady-state and transient analysis is an added value
  • It is expected that you understand: 1) Power system time domain and frequency domain modelling and stability analysis and 2) Electromagnetic and electromechanical transients of power system devices following abnormal events

It is an added value if you have experience with:

  • Experience from other power systems/ turbine manufacturers or Transmission System Operators (TSO's)
  • Power electronic converters applied to power generation systems
  • Controller design for machine guides and power systems
  • Programming (C, Python, Fortran, DPL)

  • Naturally share knowledge with team and handle stakeholders
  • A good networker and able to build, develop and maintain relationships in a global environment
  • Collaborator and able to work well in a multi-cultural environment
  • Process-oriented and have a structured way to work
