If you feel inspired by the electrical Balance of Plant components (eBoP) which combined with wind turbines becomes a renewable power plant and find motivation in both people- and technical leadership in a complex business environment. Then you may be the candidate we are looking for.

  • The Electrical BoP and Infrastructure (eBoP) is a department within the Power System Integration (PSI) organization in Vestas R&D

  • The energy transition from fossil fueled power plants to renewables poses significant and increasing opportunities to the electrical power system in several countries

  • The PSI organization is end-to-end accountable to solve these situations and achieve grid connection for our clients

  • We do the electrical design between the power grid and the individual turbines, which includes modelling, control, and integration of own designed Wind turbines with various third-party eBoP components

  • The eBoP department is recruiting electrical engineers in a global setup across Portugal, Denmark and India

  • The main purpose of the team is to select the most optimal electrical main circuit concepts and the right eBoP suppliers from mainly a Performance, Cost and Modulization point of view. This is mostly relevant to optimize the increasing number of projects where Vestas is selected as EPC/Turnkey supplier

  • The components, which has the most focus are so-called innovative components like Statcoms, Mechanical Switched Capacitors and Inverters for Electrolyzer, Inverters for Solae & BESS applications, Rectifiers for PtX applications 

  • Our main stakeholders inside Vestas are the regional Construction and Procurement teams, who delivers the construction projects



You will report to the VP of PSI and be responsible for both people leadership and to some extend the technical domain, which is however shared with a technical delegation structure. This ranges from specifications and design to support and optimization of a global value chain. More specifically, your responsibilities will cover:

  • Grow the team and recruit world class skills in a global setup

  • Select the most optimal concepts of the electrical infrastructure

  • Select and qualify the right eBoP components and suppliers

  • People management (one-one dialogues, development plans, target settings)

  • Understand and fulfill the needs of internal users and stakeholders

  • Prioritize between long term R&D project activities, medium term development activities and short-term operational support

  • Support and sign off on technical Strategies, Roadmaps and Designs

  • Department budgeting and resource allocations

  • Follow up on project progress to deliver high quality with respect to time and cost

  • Implement optimizations in processes and tools to reduce time and increase quality



  • You probably have a Bachelor or Master degree within electrical engineering

  • Minimum 10 years professional experience from engineering, construction or procurement

  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience, probably supported by some leadership education

  • Good cultural understanding and international working experience

  • You have the desire and the ability to understand and maintain overview of a wide range of advanced technical domains

  • Good communication skills in English
