Plant Design & Risk Modelling is anchored in Vestas R&D. Vestas R&D is where new product ideas and technologies are developed, matured, tested, and improved. To put in short, Vestas Power R&D is the cornerstone of Vestas - we are shaping the future of modern energy.

The Plant Design & Risk Modelling is developing Vestas' site assessment platform, ensuring risk offerings and warranty framework. We develop solutions for minimizing value at risk, all carried out in close collaboration with stakeholders across Vestas' value chain. The department consists of highly skilled, international, highly experienced, cross-discipline employees located across Portugal, Denmark and India.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities span from strategic development of new technologies to delivering internal tools and products in Power Curve Verification area. In this team, we need a new team-member who focuses on the delivery of user-friendly data analyses software to the end users. Suitable candidates will be required to:

  • Design architectures for secure data-driven and data-intensive applications and products
  • Iteratively refine architectures to match a modern business environment
  • Develop subsystems / modules for use in these architectures and reuse across multiple systems

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience within the area of software development/engineering
  • Proficient in any high-level object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, R, C#, or other), currently the team are mainly programming in R.
  • Experience with applying Machine learning and data mining
  • Experience with databases/data storage e.g. advanced queries and index creation.
  • Experience with Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD and test-driven development.
  • Knowledge of visualization tools like Dataiku Data Science Studio and R shiny is advantageous.
  • Experience from the wind industry is beneficial but not a requirement.
