As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, the LaC Product Architecture and Roadmap department is responsible for translating the Market needs into viable future products. The responsibility spans from high-level turbine architecture studies and product roadmap analyses for the different markets to the first execution phases of new product development. The team consists of highly skilled, multinational, and experienced engineers who are architects of the future, shaping the landscape of wind energy through innovation, diligence, and a constant pursuit of excellence. 

 

Responsibilities 

Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for: 

  • Market analysis of Vestas portfolio within the department's responsibilities 

  • In cooperation with the rest of the mechanical and electrical departments, study the architectural choices for future products 

  • Feasibility studies of new wind turbine products aiming at optimizing power, loads, and noise performance through innovative use of sensors, controllers and actuators 

  • Assess and implement changes that enhance the performance, efficiency, and sustainability of Vestas Wind Turbine Solutions 

  • Choose and tune the correct control technologies and algorithms that best fit the product that is in development. 

  • Improvement of processes that ensures lean and efficient execution 

  • Ensure stakeholder alignment across the organization 

  • Guide the project to a level of maturity with a frozen architecture and a clear target market 

 

Qualifications 

  • MSc. or PhD. within Mechanical, Civil, Wind, Control or Mechatronic Engineering or similar, combined with 5 to 8 years of working experience within the wind industry or comparable field 

  • Proven history in running wind turbine product developments from a technical point of view 

  • Knowledge of aeroelastic tools such as Flex5, Bladed or HAWC2 

  • Solid competencies within dynamic simulations of mechanical systems 

  • Knowledge of aerodynamics ideally applied to wind turbines 

  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink 

  • Knowledge of control for wind turbine applications; experience in tuning or developing control algorithms is ideal
