The "Nacelle, Lubricant & Tools" team is a part of "Turbine Operations Engineering" department in the Vestas VTO organization. We are currently expanding the organization with highly qualified employees. The department is responsible for delivering Service engineering solutions for All-Brand turbines, enabling the business within Vestas to fulfill its determined, strategic targets. The solutions vary from parts & repair over maintenance concepts to product improvements like component life extensions, optimizations of performance and cost-out initiatives. The department holds the design responsibility for /aftersales solutions on the products no longer being manufactured.
You will join our mechanical Nacelle engineering team who performs various types of technical engineering support to the service support channels CIM, ISM, Scheduled Service etc. The responsibilities also cover engineering support to technical documentation for Service Work Instructions, Risk Assessments and PFMEA's. The responsibility of the department covers most of the mechanical areas of Vestas and Multi-Brand turbines under service contract, excluding drive train and blades The team is distributed over different geographical locations and is expanding to meet the demand of a growing and challenging business.
Responsibilities
As an Engineering Lead, you can expect to work with both the technical and human side of the business. In this position, you can look forward to undertaking the following responsibilities:
- You will be representing the team in initial technical scoping discussions for possible projects with focus on, roadmap, cost out, improved production factor, safety etc.
- You will enter fully as an engineering team member and perform various engineering works when matching your skills and experience
- You will ensure that the customers' requirements are captured and transformed with a technical solution quality mind-set into a clear project that accounts for both technical and business risks
- You will be validating solutions against requirements and escalate technical risks throughout the project's lifetime
- You will be acting as the technical anchor point and first-line contact for our internal customers and other stakeholders
Qualifications
- Around 5 years + experience within the wind power business will be a requirement
- Engineering degree or equivalent in Mechanical area (M. Sc. or B. Sc.) or relevant working experience could be considered
- A good fundamental mechanical and overall understanding of Turbine's operation
- If you come with service engineering area knowledge and a good understanding of balancing of product quality, lifetime, and customer needs, it will be highly valued
- Experience from larger organizations will be valuable
- Experience from working within project environment - product development or optimization
